I have been at home feeling sorry for myself since I was sent home from work on Wednesday afternoon. Monday saw me on the receiving end of an outburst from a little frog in an unhappy place – I will be having the conversation with senior managers next week – the senior managers who of course we rarely see! Anyway nothing broken but the nasty cold I was supporting turned into a chest infection and I was really not fit for purpose on Wednesday. So ever since have been in bed with hot water bottle and 2 cats for company – OH away for a few days.
My mother always said you should ‘feed a cold’ and I took that as meaning have something you really really wantbut try as I might I had not really come up with anything that hit the spot
Thinking of childhood I couldn’t really remember being ill but I do remember something that we were given when on that rare occasion we were tucked up in bed during the day – a magic liquid. Amber and fizzy with a strange sweet salty taste. When you saw it you really knew you were ill! But when you took those first few sips you just knew that you where on the road to recovery and everything will be back to normal – LUC*ZADE!! Then it was only available in the chemist came in a glass bottle and was wrapped in orange cellophane. So, when a near neighbour noticed I wasn’t at work ( car on drive!) and text me to say she was off to The Town and was there anything I wanted, I thought thats it, Luc*zade!!........................ now I am no dinosaur but pink lemonade flavour REALLY:eek: She also brought me original so I played safe and poured myself a glass got back into a warm bed took a sip and waited for the magic to return..................bleurgh bleurgh bleurgh. Sweet sickly very gassy carp pre teen beverage IMHO. OK back in the day it was probably just sugar colour and water but I am sure it has been 'modernised' with added rubbish etc etc Sometimes progress just gets it wrong:rotfl:
Its my usual work at home day today and I feel a little better - cough and spluttering but head ache gone. Plan to catch up on a few financial things - bank account looks very depleted but a few Eb*y sales will help us to the finish line again - the hoarding is coming into its own so far this year - its one of my goals to get the stuff out of the house this year and use to hit the debt although at the moment only a bit is going on debt busting most is just surviving:( but house will be less cluttered.............
Meal plans went out of the window this week - being unwell and OH away ( I forgot!) but will be back on track next week. 2 days not driving to work has saved a bit on fuel and I have kept the house on the cool side for the last 2 days ( coal low and no delivery until Tuesday) - DD2 very good at wrapping herself in a blanket to watch TV!
Going to count up all my coin jars/pots this weekend - some getting full so will be off to bank to pay onto one of the CC during half term.
Afore mentioned friend also bought me a large pot of already cut up mango - reduced to 75p neither of us would ever buy it otherwise! So I am off to eat some - much better than 21st century dayglo energy drink;)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Cant peel myself away from Winter Olympics
why wasn't there snowboard slope style 30+ years ago??! I would have been right there..................knackered knees now so cant even ski any more
Too much to do today and no motivation - wet and windy weather doesnt help. Lost electric last night again and Ag* out this morning:mad: too windy!! I think the water table has finally reached the surface here which is a bit alarming as we live on a steep hill - large deep puddles forming everywhere which I have never seen before. We are never likely to be flooded although a stream higher up the mountain did burst its banks last year and the lane was just a torrent - people at bottom of hill had water coming in at back door and gushing out through front! We have a stream which runs underground under our garden and I could hear its low rumble this morning:eek: Really feeling for the folks who have been flooded for weeks - homes destroyed and livelihoods broken.Tragic as it it I do feel we should be thankful for so far minimal loss of life......... if you think about how in some areas of the world when the weather is beyond control just how any 1000's die.
Must get onBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

A very strange week - off work Monday cos really not well - rang in Monday afternoon to say wasnt 100 % but would be in Tuesday to be told place shut as no heating - which it has remained so for rest of week .So I have been at home all week catching up on paperwork in between perfecting my vocabulary for slope style and getting my head round the strategy game of steely nerves and core strength that is curling! Wednesday was wet and wild and DD2 school closed lunchtime and has not been opened since. Chaos on roads etc all round. We have no damage that I can see but did lose power mid afternoon Wednesday until Thursday morning.- no problem as our heating hot water and cooking is solid fuel. OH sent home from work Thursday as no power. Anyway have saved money as no commuting this week but I guess that is off set by having to keeping house warm. Glad for week off as I have been feeling pretty meh all week - post viral carp I think. Today has been first with any energy!
Really feeling it for those who have lost so much..........my heart went out to poor farmer stranded with is flock of pregnant ewes.I wish there was something we could do to help. Things seem to have quietened down now and looks a little more promising for next week. Work closed Monday as heating still not fixed. I have unenviable task tomorrow of ringing round all the frogs parents to let them know. We have meeting on Monday to discuss contingency plans.............and where are all the senior managers..............conspicuous by their absence I can say.
Tomorrow I will look at financial things - slipped off the radar a bit this weekBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Been into work this morning but still no heating- had contingency meeting to discuss what we are doing -frogs have been at home now since this time last week with parent frogs - so plans in place we will see what tomorrow brings - its only 4 days and then a week of
Spending bonus time at home catching up on financials. Eb*y not great at moment possibly now relisted what is there too may times now - must add some new stuff.
It was beautiful day here yesterday - quiet calm sunny and even warm! Just squandered the time on I don't know what. Really wanted to spend time in garden tidying up all the debris from the stormy weather last week. Garden is full of snow drops which is always great to see. We have one solitary daffodil which had decided to strike out on its own and remarkably has withstood the gale force onslaught. The rest have hunkered down and maybe in week our two the garden will take on its spring livery - fresh green and gold. The lonely daff is hopefully a sign of calmer quieter warmer days just around the corner ....................heres hoping:)Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

My few snowdrops are just about to come out - can't wait to get some colour coming from what feels like a dreary garden here at the moment. Daffs are poking through too - won't be long.
Hope work and heating gets sorted, what a pain having to deal with that.Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020

Well what a very odd couple of weeks thankfully now at an end - half term to look forward to now..........traditionally a week when I have a 'set to' about the house but quite frankly have no enthusiasm for at the moment! I nice catch up date with friends tomorrow over tea coffee and fab HM cakes which is a good start. DD2 is off to spend some time with DD1 then I a visit to doctor dentist hairdresser and garage all scheduled and that will be the week over! AT least it ends with payday

Igamogam! How are you doing? I hope all is well and the debt busting still going strong. I'll need to catch up on your diary, it's been ages. I've just made a new one, things are desperate so I'll be around here a lot from now on!
:-) xxIf you know you have enough, you're rich.0
