So log on for the first time in blimmin ages to find I have an 8 year anniversary badge............kinda reminds me I am no further on really :( Now that is sad.

Yes all is well Brizz and NOA and thanks for asking! - been MIA as RL is just getting in the way. Physical bits OK, well on the mend. Work is taking up ALL my time and head space taken up with trying not to be concerned about DD1 who has dumped her BF of 10 years but seems to be trying to make up for lost time.........in that she is embarking on what she should have done at 21, post degree or at 18 pre degree. She is old enough to make her own decisions but deep down I do wonder/worry..............

Anyway the Idiot in Charge has yet again not returned to work in September - third one running  Not sure how they get away with it. So yours truly stepping in again holding the fort........this time though I am not keeping it ticking over. As a team we are making changes and moving forward in a way we have wanted to for some time. I am happy to take responsibility if the Idiot in Charge doesnt like it :)...............I am on a countdown to freedom after all ;)

PS. My LBM supposedly happened in 2003.. so let's simply consider ourselves as in good mutual company :) :rotfl:

Hi Igamogam :)Good that you can take control as a team to make things work for the better, can't see that she could argue against if you are all working together! Though going by what's gone before she probably will!

Sorry to hear about DD worries, that's a long time invested in a relationship. Hope it all works out soon. Its hard not to worry though. My DD is coming up to 2nd anniversary with her BF, this year they are apart doing different things, so it will be a good test!

Re 8 year MSE badge - you must a lot further forward as you also have a Mortgage free badge?! And you have a plan.....

Have been MIA a little bit too long! Just putting the finishing lines to a chapter in my life I didnt expect nor plan for.........RL has a habit of tripping you up and getting in the way sometimes!

Going to ease my way back in over the next few days and catch up with what I can and look forward to 2018 :)

2017 started well.....good intentions, good momentum, good results and for the first 3 quarters of the year all looking good. I was a year where I realised I could make a lasting change to my health without any doctor - felt strong healthy and positive. Survived a reorganisation and the Idiot in Charge was just an Idiot really.

Things began to hurtletowards the buffers in late summer - heavy financial outlays which stripped all of my nice EF and some, so CCs came back into play. OH left it until the last minute ( about 2 weeks) to tell me he was once again on his Trip of a Lifetime and away for 5 weeks. DD2 parted from her BF of 10 years, gave up on her life she has had away from home the last 8 years and decide a reboot was in order. She moved back temporarily with her wordlies and decided to spend the winter away improving her extreme sport of choice and pick up work when and where she could. I returned to work after summer break and found I had to take up the mantle of In Charge at a very busy time of year with a full set of mad frogs that have been the worse we have ever had....and that is saying something! Just when I thought things might settle down my oldest, dearest and closest friend died very suddenly - admitted to hospital, diagnosed with multiple cancers and died all in the space of 4 days. It was a devastating shock to all her knew her. I spoke to her on the day she was admitted and you would not have known anything was wrong. At 51 with 2 children, one still in school, she still had a life to lead. In our close circle of friends it has left a huge incomprehensible hole and I am not sure I/we have processed it properly yet. I have spent some dark times since thinking about how things can be snatched away from you very quickly - life brought into sharp focus. I have taken my eye off the ball since then - health, finances, relationships, work goals. 2017 ends with me planning how I can get back on track with all 4. I know what to do health wise. As far as work goes I may just be the whistle blower this year :( and make a concerted effort to get those early retirement plans kick started again which are wrapped up killing the debt. Finances are not where I wanted them to be but again I am an old hand at this debt busting thing so I am disappointed but not daunted. As far as relationships go.......I need to reassess who are real friends and I feel that 2018 maybe make or break year for OH and I and this makes me sad and possibly a little fearful for the future.

Spending quiet night seeing in NY with true friends tonight and wondering what 2018 will bring for all of us.

Happy New Year. Blwyddyn Newydd Da. To all of you who take an interest in my ramblings :)
