    Good morning,

Another one awake for half the night here. I couldn't sleep, and just as I was dropping off at 1:30am, the house elf woke up. He was awake until 2:30, and then we managed to sleep until 8am. At least the elf is learning the art of catch up sleeping, and has stopped waking at 5:30am no matter what time he goes to bed.

Our holiday in Cork was good. We didn't do a lot in the way of sight seeing. I have been there many times before and three boisterous boys in the back of the car puts you off driving too far, but the elf enjoyed playing with his cousins, swimming in the hotel pool and seeing the smurf film.

I have friends and their children coming round for lunch today. I thought quiche would be quick and easy, but sadly we ate it for dinner last night with some other friends, so I will have to think again. The house is reasonably tidy but probably won't be later as all of todays visitors have children.

redruby can you get picture books of your dad's local area? We love looking at the old photos of the way places used to look.

Nanny Camelot Congratulations on the birth of Amelie.

    Take care all of you

Morning all! I was supposed to get up and walk the dog today, but was so tired I couldn't get out of bed in time. Pup is asleep on the sofa so I don't think he minds too much, will get him out later.

Ready for work but need to get the later train as missed the early one!

Boiler man is coming to service the boiler tomorrow morning.

Got a wash on, not much else needed to do today, so will hopefully have a relaxing evening, OH is probably going to be late again!

    Have a lovely day all!!

I was supposed to be gardening this morning but it's chucking it down! And cool, so am breaking a 'rule' and will light the open fire because otherwise today will be thoroughly miserable...
And instead of working outdoors, will stay in and bake, cookies, muffins and sponge cakes. :)
Also need to get my quilting stock together and make a start on it. I don't have a sewing machine so it will all be hand sewn, good job I find sewing relaxing! :D
And will do housework. For some reason if feels more like late autumn than late summer, so the nesting feeling is catching me up and I'm feeling the need to cosy down. :)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Hi all,

I'm one of the not sleeping club:rotfl: Fell asleep at 10pm, woke at 12 and didn't go back till 2:eek: Things going round in my head re DD's wedding Saturday.

    Camelot Congratulations, lovely name!
HH Hope the car is okay. I'm getting rid of mine in Feb when it's due to go back (Motability) as I need the £200 a month they take for the cost of it.

Got to go to town to get a tooth sorted today. Had a check up two weeks ago and have mananged to break a filling. I know if I don't get it sorted it will start to ache on Saturday!:rotfl:

Keep thinking things will go wrong, but I know they won't. DD is a Bridezilla at the moment:mad:

DS is coming home with his fiancee today. Never met her yet:eek:, she's probably as worried about me as I am about her:rotfl:
Haven't seen him since Christmas, be lovely:T

Well have a good day guys!

    morning all

thankyou for all your thoughts yesterday.

another one not sleeping well here :o was falling asleep on the sofa so went up to bed. was just nodding off then got myself into a panic and had a panic attack :o took a while to settle down after and get some sleep so shattered today :(

i'm up and dressed though. trying to get back into a routine then maybe i'll sleep better (wishful thinking!) just pottering about this morning. got some washing that needs folding and putting away. maybe will spend some time pampering myself before meeting a friend for lunch. ds is at nursery but she is going to pick him up on her way to me and then we're off to pizza with the kiddies.

this afternoon i may do some baking with ds. just some fairy cakes. going to make a lasagne for dinner tonight for hubby. i dont like it and will probably be stuffed from lunch but have some salad stuff that needs using up so will pick at that if i am hungry. ds will probably eat the lasagne as well. he's eating non stop at the moment

    Good Morning All,

Couldn't get back on to the lappy last night as I had a houseful of kids. A huge gang of lads playing darts in the garage and another group of kids on the Xbox.
But anyway thanks for all your good wishes re my daughter. She is doing ok. My DGS is was with his dad last night and tonight so she wandered around the house like a lost soul all evening. So sad, but I suppose she will have to get used to it.
So took her to the train station at 6.30 this morning and tonight she is out for tea with her friend, I think the secret is keeping busy.
Tomorrow she is having a little op so will take her out for lunch and maybe a wander around the shops.
Also bought a new car seat and safety gate and nappies for DGS as DD doens't get paid until Friday and these are things we just can't do without.
Today have mum and dad for tea along with all the blooming kids so I think a chicken casserole and jacket potatoes with veg out of the garden. I big pot of something seems to go much further.
Also need some oats for twinks hobnobs and to call at the post office.
    No rest for the wicked.:D

Congrats Camelot what a beautiful name:j
Candygirl did you wet the bed:rotfl:I would tell them you are taking Boo and leave it up to them to say you can't
I am also not sleeping so many things in my head
I think we have sorted sleeping arrangements out for when DS1 arrives back for a month. DD and dgs in one room, single son in the single room, DS1 and GF in another room and me and DH in the other. That leaves DS3 who will have to sleep on the sofa bed downstairs. Oh the joys of having a big family:T

    Have a good Tuesday all J x

Morning everyone - it's been rather a long time. Hugs and thoughts to everyone who needs them.
It's grey and blowy here today. Garden tiger is on the path, glaring at me. The lack of sun is obviously my fault as ever.;)

Had an attack of flylady yesterday. I emptied out all the food cupboards, gave the selves a hell of a clean (it had been a while) and reorganised them. Then, in preparation for the AF delivery due tomorrow or Thurs, I shifted stuff about to make space. DH was most impressed when he got home, garden tiger less so. Apparently she's lost one of her favourite perches. I'm getting quite used to being ignored by her..

I did a spot of bargain hoovering at the CS and Primarni a while back, which gave me a stock of items to play with. Yesterday was dyeing day - One orange linen shirt, a pleated Monsoon top and a batch of white/cream t-shirts are now various blues ,except the the linen shirt, which came out a lovely shade of lichen green.

Now to get some matching ribbons/ braid to trim them to hide the stitching that hasn't taken the dye, to complete the faux-Boden look, then I'm taking some work wear to be altered ready for the new term. I've got some trousers that need some tailoring, and I don't quite have the skills just yet to do them, so I'm glad to get someone else to do them.

    Have a good day, everyone.
