  • I really appreciate you lot arguing amongst yourselves, I really do. It's really helpful. And if at any point anyone has some actual advice, that would be even better.

How much are you paying us for our advice? Well, don't complain then. :)

I don't think there is a simple solution, apart from what's been said above.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

What about auctions? If you have organized the finance these are a great quick way of getting a bargain. Terraced house near us went for under £18k!!!!!

FWIW, I think there's little mileage in contacting banks or lenders directly.

Whoever's in the repo dept won't be used to dealing with the public. They'll initially be baffled by your call, they'll have a chat with their line manager, who won't want to step off the corporate line, and will tell their underling to get rid of you. I'll bet you won't get anywhere with it.

They'll want to stick with what they've done in the past, i.e. send them out to the agents, and leave you to bid against other interested buyers.

You don't pay for advice on here. Nice people give it out of the kindness of their hearts...!
  • Maybe if customers "get on your wick" by asking you to provide them with details that meet their criteria you should consider changing career to a less public facing one as you seem to have problems with the fact that consumers have a choice and they have every right to action this choice however they see fit

    Just my thoughts...

I'm not an "order-taker" I'm a salesperson and I would be doing my clients a disservice if I didn't suggest alternatives. Yes, if course Customers have a choice but if I have two similar properties at a similar price and one is a repossession and the other isn't and the Buyer only wants details on repo then that is ridiculous.

EA's are always getting judged on here for not "selling" but when you do then you're not doing right either!
My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)
    Ignore......check!

Why do you specifically want to buy a repo?

You should look at all properties if you're after a bargain. A seller in a rush might be a bargain to have too!

If you could answer the questions that you're asked, we could provide some better advice. Otherwise we're left scratching our heads wondering...
