    £1.40 for the whole newspaper.

No point in us all buying one. I'm sure if there is any worthwhile freebies in it someone will post them here.

I have to say I agree, at least from what's on the website. There were a few good links (and the article on Freecycle was good--got me to finally get off my butt and join, since I have stuff to get rid of), but most of it was, as my husband put it, a guide to "being smug" for free. I mean, one article lists great free things to do as "Singing John Lennon songs to yourself" and "Browsing charity bookshops". (The latter definitely wouldn't stay free for long if you're a bookaholic like myself;) )

There are some decent articles, though, and I haven't read all the specialised one. And it's free online to read, so at least the cost is right.

i have read the hard copy as we always get the Saturday Guardian anyway for the TV guide. It's very good - blows this site out of the water in a lot of ways - some very-well researched features eg free music festivals, free kids' activities and free skill/trade swapping sites, etc were some that stuck in my mind. But lots of others too - if you can access for free online, do, but I actually think it 's well worth £1.40 for sheer variety and extent of research.
  • some of the contents are ok, but the piece on free food in bins.... bit of tongue in cheek journalism there methinks. More about making a point than actually suggesting where to get free food. However, very well written and entertaining so well worth giving it all a look.

It's typical Guradian journalism eg 'some ponce asks you if you would mind helping them put up thier tent so little Jacintha can sleep.

Thought the word ponce went ou the window in the late 70's!

Quite amusing tho but I find it not easy on the ear/mind.

the free stuff was a hoot tho.
