RyanAir baggage problem

Have multiple people on a single reservation and went to add a checked bag to my name. Somehow (I'm pretty sure the website messed up but I might have been wrong) the bag got added to the wrong name despite paying with a card registered to the correct name.

I've written countless emails to RyanAir asking for the bag to be transferred to the wrong person but they keep refusing. There must be a way to transfer the checked luggage to the correct person.

Is there anything at all to do about this or is it £50 down the drain?

I don't have an answer to your specific question regarding switching the bag allocation from one person to another, but if you are all travelling as a family group, does it matter? You will all be checking in together and travelling together. whoever has the bag against their name checks the bag in.

FYI - I would never recommend this however if you were not travelling as a family group as you obviously would never check in a bag for someone you did not know.

I'd like to know how you have done that as the EU have asked the Irish government to force Ryanair to comply with the eCommerce rules which require email communication to be available.

spiro - they have a webform->email gateway on their website. Also, I found some email addresses.

We aren't travelling as a family group - that's the problem. I don't think I can ask a stranger to check my bag for me regardless of the logistical problems of meeting at check-in.

I think it is probably a case of 'ask them' or 'loose £50'.

I'm pretty sure it was a problem on their website though and do they have the right to refuse to correct this error?

If the other person isn't taking any hold luggage then it doesnt really matter who has the bag as you are all on the same booking and will be checking in at the same time presumably.

No we're not. We will all be checking in separately. We don't know each other.

Guess he won't have booked priority boarding 'so they can all sit together' then

 Looks like you will be paying an extra £50 then.
