I have to say Im quite shocked at the spiteful response thats been written back to me, I thought people on here were nice! I came on here for honest points of view not a full blown spite attack!

I had written my thread in the heat of the moment

so yes I was taken aback by it and felt bitter last night.

Elvis or whatever your name is, who rattled your cage? Youre one of the kind of people that ruins these forums cos you feel brave being nasty behind a computer screen! I may have to 'grow up' but you seriously need to get an attitude check!

Pootleflump I completely agree and to be honest i suprised myself when i re read what I wrote last night. It did come out wrong and I think wires have been crossed.

I think because you wrote your first post in the 'heat of the moment' they way it came across is not necessarily how you would have wrote it today. However, Elvis, myself and others would have replied based on your original (unedited) version.

You agree, today, that you felt bitter last night; that came across in your post and so that had an effect on how we all worded our replies.

I think Elvis and anyone else on here wouldn't want you to be hurt by the replies you receive, but that's unfortunately is what happens on an open forum - hey look back at some of my posts and people's replies; at the time it was hard reading, but it's other people's opinions that I had asked for; if I didn't want them I wouldn't ask.

I think the outcome is, you asked if you were being unreasonable and - based on your original first post - most people thought you were.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
  • I didn't think you sounded awful Sugar_moon, more a little upset and surprised. I think as someone else said though, it might be that although you may not have many cousins, your cousins may have hundreds. We had 55 guests at ours (around 19 were children) but if we'd invited all MY cousins it would have been 155 (including all their children). I emailed them all though and pointed out if I won the lottery I'd invite them all, but since I hadn't I couldn't and I hoped they;d understand... I had one there in the end and we've always been really close.

Hope you get it all sorted out x
