3G Charges in the UK. Does the Euro Cap Apply

im on Tesco Mobile, £15/M Iphone tarrif. 1 Month rolling contract.

I used sky go on Sunday afternoon to watch the football on my iPhone 4. Must have used it for about 2hrs.

This morning I could not make any calls, so rang tesco Mobile. I have a bill for £120.00. The sky go app used my 512MB allowance and about an additional 200MB (@60p M/B).

I have the EU data bar set at 40 Euro's, but guess this only applies to roaming. I did'nt get any text, call or email message from Tesco Mobile telling me I was approaching my limit.

When I spoke to them, they said it was because their system cannot keep up and only checks once in a while....

Is this fair? Anything I can do about it?

Would have been cheaper to go to the game!!!:rotfl:

Mobile phone data bills are only capped to €50 (about £44) per month,when your roaming in the EU.

No requirement exists for providers to warn you of your mobile phone usage in the UK.

Thank, just what I thought.

Tesco deal looks attractive, but guess I need to change to a plan where the data is capped or fixed daily price to avoide this happening again.

Why someone gets a contract with 512MB or even 1GB with an iPhone is beyond me.

Why would I need more if I spend most of time on WiFi? Even 500 is far too much for me despite using satnav occasionally (HTC Desire, google navigation).
