Thanks for pm. Tried to work out how to reply but not quite got head round that.

Please do not think I took offence - you were not abrupt. You were just keeping me right!

Got DGSs for sleepover tonight so am quite tired. They are both well asleep. Just about to have a glass of red and then will sleep over with the boys. DD still being horrendously sick with DGD or DG 3 at 14 weeks. Thought it might have past by now. Valentine - Hope you are OK as you are a wee bit behind her.

Love and hugs to all. Not had time to catch up - I tend to do that at work when I am quiet.

    Love to all

Not read the thread today but just popped in and browsed. I take it some holiday memories are on here'

Some of my best have been going to China (we have friends in Hong Kong). Beijing, Xian, Shanghai (all the sightseeing you could imagine); great holiday to San Francisco with a long weekend in Las Vegas, then a couple of days in Yosemite; the wine tour to Nappa Valley plus Alcatraz! Three weeks with my borhter in Miama (he lives there) doing the Keys etc - Fantastico! Down side was being mugged in Barcelona but it is still a fantantastic place to be.
  • I have tried to post some photos of our trip to NYC but no joy. I know I must be doing something wrong but I can't fix it without speaking to someone. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed it - especially since we visited the Museum of Natural History where "Night at the Museum" is supposedly set - even though the set is nothing like the actual museum and both kids mentioned that QUITE LOUDLY in the cinema. :D:o

We loved our trip and still come across reminders of it every so often. In fact, we came across the DIY-Frrrozen Hot Chocolate Mixes we bought in Serendipity in mid-December and have decided that these should be used in winter (a bit of a liberty here as we seem to have gone from autumn to autumn or autumn to spring without any winter so far - yes, I know things could get sooooo much worse soon but I have my children's optimism!!!). The Frrrozen Hot Chocolate was THE most delicious form of chocolate I have ever had the pleasure to devour. It can be bought online and is well worth the expenditure (and here speaks a diabetic!
      )

If I am VERY lucky this year, I may be able to afford a long weekend in a very wet, miserable place. :( Money is very tight but I wish I could be able to afford at least a long weekend away with my DS and DD. Still, I know we are very lucky compared to some people. My kids know that they should count their blessings.

Oooooh Didn't mean to get miserable folks. Sorry. Hope your Saturday has been good to you. xxx

just back from trip to dd to watch footie - on the way picked up sneaky snacks from asda. Bought some party food which was supposed to be four for a fiver but scanned at 5.53 as one of the items was reduced. went to customer services hwere she refunded the 53p after a slight argument. Then i asked her for my £2 giftcard and she looked blank - called a manager over and result .... our snacks were four for £3 - woohoo!
sad day for exdh and youngest dd as liverpool were knocked out of the cup but middle dd was happy - especially when Henry scored (he's in my fantasy team at work so i'm happy too.) Brentford also lost of course :(
Being dragged away to play trivial pursuit with youngest dd - she's very clever so i'll probably lose

I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Good Evening All - hope we are well

Oh dear moggins, hope your day improves, Im sure kids try our patience, I know mine do. Its been quiet this afternoon, my kids have gone to their dad's for the wk end. I like Queenie's response. She has the right idea. :rotfl:

    Welcome cattie1 & busygirl

Its been great looking at all your hol pics. Me & OH are saving for our trip to Florida in Oct 2008 for our wedding - talking of which - MY ENGAGEMENT RING CAME TODAY - ITS LOVELY. im not a jewellry person, so it will take some getting use to.

Had my eyebrows waxed this morning, had to get some postal orders from the PO (obvious), then to Halfords to exchange OH sat nav he got for Xmas, back home to start listing on ebay, Ive got 27 selling on there now, whoo woo, hope some of it goes.

Kids are with their dad this wk end, so Its been quiet. Managed to get about 2weeks of shopping in from Tesco, spent £79, incl, some fresh, reduced bread, now in the freezer. Shelf & fridge stuff, fruit & veg, Plus some extra's, reduced stock ready for DS birthday soon.

DLB hope DD feels better soon, Thank your DS1 for letting me know on MSN. I'll keep an eye out for my kids but hopefully they (we) should be ok.
Mind you, I could do with a wk off work, and get the rest of the stuff put on ebay.

Not much other news for now, so I'll sign off to watch BB, Donny Tourettes has walked, he went over the fence at about 11.30pm fri, he refused to be a servant for Jade.Shame, he did seem to have calmed down after his entrance.

Good night all - take care
    love as usual

  • D'oh!!! I had to post my previous message twice. What I wanted to say was that the Florida photos were lovely and it was such a joy to see so many happy, smiling children. They will all be heart-breakers in the future btw - gorgeous children, each and every one.

XDH and I had offered DS and DD two weeks in Florida or 5 days in NYC and they chose NYC for some reason. I wasn't complaining as two weeks with XDH would have been a penance for me! We had a fabulous time and I would go back to New York any time.

Grannybroon - would love to visit China and San Francisco - I'm not a holiday snob but Las Vegas, Miami, Dubai, and all the hot places do nothing for me. I much prefer to visit the places that interest me rather than feeling that I MUST visit a "trendy" place. Sounds as though you had a lovely time though. What was the absolute highlight of the trips you did in 2006?
