Motorbike security

Right then, CBT done!
I've bought a Suzuki GZ Marauder which I'm picking up in a couple days
So back to the mirage of security kit on offer... I'm thinking the best option for if it has to be kept outside is a chain (chained to either a ground anchor or something solid!) , disk lock and cover.
So, as there is sooo much out there (and not a lot of conclusions have been made so far) what are the various manufacturers like? for chains, Almax seems to come out on top (tho pricey to suit)
Oxford seem to pop up a lot, what are they like compared with the rest? or any other manufacturers to be recommended??
Cheers all from a soon to be 'biker'

Nice looking bike there.

Nice bullet-proof engine, a simple bike (which is a compliment) without many systems to go wrong, and light enough so that it ought to be nimble, despite the cruiser layout, though I wouldn't fancy it for things like manoeuvring in-between gridlocked cars on the motorway.
Easy to work on by the looks of things, I'd be surprised if it doesn't serve you well for ages assuming it's in decent nick.
Not exactly my style, but I certainly wouldn't be ashamed to be seen riding round on one.
Obv that's just the impression I get by looking at various pics & reviews, but a female mate of mine swears by her GNs (125 & 250) & Yammy Vigaro (500) so you don't need to be a muscle-man to handle one.
Sounds good to me; personally I might go for a chain, moderately cheap alarm, and cover.I'm thinking the best option for if it has to be kept outside is a chain (chained to either a ground anchor or something solid!), disk lock and cover.
The function of the alarm would be to stop opportunists from even bothering to check any further, and if you are one of the unlucky few who get a really determined thief, an alarm going off while they're trying to bust the lock is an extra bonus which for the pittance they cost is almost a no-brainer imo.
But in any case you've got the basics covered there.
Try this; (it's a .pdf, might take a few mins to load depending on your connection). So, as there is sooo much out there (and not a lot of conclusions have been made so far) what are the various manufacturers like? for chains, Almax seems to come out on top (tho pricey to suit)

If you want to know about specific brands/models, it's the reference list from the Thatcham site, these specifically are the locks which will give an insurance discount, and as such "ought" to be fairly trust-worthy, though of course always copy-paste the name plus "review" into google to see if a particular lock has any really bad reviews before you commit.
I would hesitate to recommend any specific manufacturers because I simply don't know enough about half of them to give you real advice about one brand over another.0
