I kept mine nice and simple even though I have experience doing arty things I though a simple design suited our wedding best. Mine cost about 40p each and I used the stamp to decorate our table names, OOS and other bits to tie in the theme. very easy to make! Just bought the outer cards from Hobbycraft and printed the insides at home. I stuck the insides in with some thin double sided sticky tape. The map was traced off googlemaps and scanned in with the details added in publisher. Its worth playing around with a free publishing software to get it looking really professional.

My first draft invites can be seen here. The bow was actually bigger on the final version!

Its easy to decorate the invites, ebay is a good place to start. Also PDA card and craft are good for the cards.

Re posting pics - I've never manged to do so Elvis hence posting a link!

I think with invites, the vast majority you see are fairly easy to make which is why there are so many people who make them for a living. Just takes a little patience which not many people have! There are many online guides on places like martha stewarts website. I have also seen a place where you can download templates with the printed decoration already on, cant remember the name of it offhand though. worth an evening googling for inspiration anyhow.

Lollie, I made them by getting A5 card, and cutting the ivory card a bit smaller. I then used a glue gun(as stickier) to glue the ribbon around and onto the card, pulling it tight. The glue only goes on to the front, so you make a slip at the back to hold RSVP cards etc. I then glue the (printed) card to the front. Very simple!

I tried that but it shows my username which is pretty much my real name, so I'm not really comfortable with that..:(
