Simple (stupid?) moving house question
Paul_-C-
I'm currently in my first bought house, but feel the need to move soon.
So, do I find a house I like and make an offer, then try and sell my house? Or do I get an offer in for my house first, then go house hunting?
I have looked around for an answer, but I can't seem to find it
Apologies for the silly question!

Not a silly question at all, we accepted an offer on our house 1st, we felt we couldnt offer on any properties until we had sold, also puts you in a better position. I wouldnt really consider an offer off someone who hadnt sold their house 1st..hope this helps.0

It's much better to get your house on the market before you even start looking and then hopefully accept an offer before you start making any offers yourself.
Most people won't entertain an offer if you don't already have an offer on your own house. You're also more likely to get a better price when you're in the strongest bargaining position you can be.
I'm sure there's some more useful information if you read at least the first couple of pages of the house buying and house selling stickies at the top of this board

That's the impression I got after calling around some sales offices for new flats. As soon as I mentioned my house wasn't on the market yet they weren't interested.0

I notice mostly when I get thanked for really rubbish posts... It also takes newbies a while to find that button!

I read one of your posts earlier, the one where you mention you're married, it shattered my illusions...:p0

EDIT for clarification: You were talking about illusions. Yes I am married and although my avatar might suggest it, I don't really have blue hair. Although I do have a glass as pictured and the liquid is the right colour. Which is a good job really as I wouldn't be talking rubbish with you on someone elses thread otherwise
