    Don't forget to also account for the extra memory you'll need. Custom PC magazine has done some testing on Vista and reckon you will need 2GB of memory if you want to play any serious games on your PC.

    yep thats true i got 2gb maybe there are some gadget/computer freaks out there like me

    Only problem is apparently the OEM versions only work once? If you ever format it'll never work again. can anyone verify this?

    btw, I have 2 GB RAM as well. A large proportion of the debt I'm in is because of my PC ;)

    yeh as soon i get any money goes into my PC im working on getting an 500GB external hdd !

    yep......reckon it will be the biggest MS flop since the dead duck Windows ME....how many PCs come with 2gb of mem.....doh!!

    Well new machines are going to come with 1gb ram genrall pc buyers dont really do gaming so it wont bother them you need the new tech and windows vista is not going to be a flop

    So, for a basic user.... Vista = good /bad? I've got XP on both a laptop and PC. It hurts my head just thinking of it all, is Vista an easy jump or another worthless costly update?
