Apart from airbnb.com can anyone reccomend somewhere to hire an apartment in Barcelona for a week at the end of September?

Would rather do this than a hotel. Looked around a bit but can't seem to find anywhere online

Has anyone encountered problems with deposit being retained unfairly?

I'd like to rent an apartment. The website says to pay a deposit online - then the rest in cash when we arrive.
Not comfortable carrying that amount with me - what if we get battered over the head and the deposit kept?!

With that outlook on life you may be better to stay at home.
After being battered over the head you may wish to return home.
And when was it unfair to lose your deposit when you dont pay the remainder..........buy a money belt....in poundland.....if you ever carry that much cash!
