They are all heads together on this and all the prices will end up within a few pence of each other.
At least under nationalisation you knew where you were, there was a national price per unit and everyone paid the same rate on one scheme (how much you used )
Who would have thought it.. that they would all put there heads together and rip us off ? I wouldn't mind, but they don't even touch the gas or electric , it still sold to them at a fixed cost per unit from the supplier in effect all the government have done is stick a middleman in and ban you paying the supplier directly.
I would compare the present system as pulling in to the petrol station where you HAVE to have the petrol dispensed by a freelance pump attendant who trebles the price on the board, gives the price on the board to the petrol station and keeps the difference.
Why can we not just pay the supplier of the Gas directly. ?
Energy companies are not suppliers, they are just re-selling agents.

Not correct, all the big 6 (AFAIK) have their own generating capacity.
And, under your scheme, who would pay for delivery of the energy?

Is there a website that I can check out of the top say 5 cheapest deals on one of the comparison sites about the plans etc? Im confused (i know it doesn't take a lot!) as if they say Npower are rising their prices I would assume (Wrongly) that its all of the plans, not selected ones - how do we find out about the selected ones?

    Thank you!

If you click on the tariff name in the results list, then all the tariff info is displayed.
Well, it certainly does that on energyhelpline.
