Leaving BB provider

After 11 years we are moving this week from BT for our BB. Our main email accounts have always been @btinternet.com. We have been moving the ones that matter to a gmail account but I am sure there is something we have missed.
Anyone know how long after leaving BT does your btinternet.com email stop working ?

There is no set period, it could be days or months.
You can still set up your email account to receive from the old address, but you won't be able to send from it any more-go into the BT account in your email program and change the SMTP server address to that of your new ISP.No free lunch, and no free laptop
