So I take out O2's free broadband for six months wef 08 Aug...got a text today saying my bills overdue & I owe £14.50....!!!!!!! I topped up my mobile so at the most it should be £9.50..
I call O2,Yup,it £9.50 I'm told.
Whens the billing date I ask....27th of the month I'm told.
So how come I'm being charged a full months charge when the difference from the billing date to the new contract is 12 days?
So the message I got when I call the automated payment line says £14.50 you the chap on the phone say's it's £9.50....It's a certain bet I'll pay the £9.50 when I get paid at the end of the week yet I'll get my BBand cut off as thes' £5.00 outstanding!! (as happened to me before when the same thing occurred)

Yup,I topped up twice as I got a new phone in mid July.It get weirder,while clearing out my text's I found a text from O2 on the 31st July saying my bill is £9.50.
I'm guessing that they have added the £5.00 for the difference between the billing date & the change of contract to the bill generated on 27th July instead of removing £9.50....On the phone to them now....again!
Just off the phone;
Been on to them again,so basically I'd have to pay a full months rental,which they'd credit the difference to my account,so the money would be sitting in O2's bank account for the next six months instead of mine...Been advised not to pay it this month & wait for it to be re-calculated next month & pay then.0 -
I had the same.
I went onto their evening & weekend package, they decided they wanted to bill me for the calls. Loads of phone calls to customer support, they finally stopped charging me for evening calls.
And they have this ridiculous system..... if they overcharge you they cant just add a credit to your account. They take the overpayment from your bank and refund it to you a month later. Stupid.0
