cheer poppy?
We would fly Newcastle - Barca! ;-)
What is it cheaper Thurs - Wed? Flights or Digs?
As its for a special birthday (ie: my other half's!) I don't wanna be slumping it in a hostel, so can you recommend somewhere 1/2 decent? I'm even thinking about a package holiday for 7 nights but do you think this is OTT?
How hard is it to drive there/back, and for the sake of £90 for 4 days car hire, would you definitely recommend bus/train?0 -
i was staying in the olympic in Calella in May the same weekend as spanish GP... loads of F1 fans stayed there... it's cheap as chips all inc :O) fly into Gerona... or Barcelona, the hotel was doing the GP for 80 Euros with transport provided :O)0

Is the 80 Euros per person or per night? Were looking at Wed - Monday0 -
the F1 website has Gen Admission for £86 a piece - price valid til end Nov. (rather than £110) which seems canny.
I was thinking about General Addmission!

the GA are the green areas on the map. Where do you think would be the best to stand/layabout (if sun is out!). We're taking camping chairs so shall be ok!0 -

i think i was on the spectator bank across from L and M grandstands on the inside of the corner, it was ok there, close to food, toilets and a few merchandise stalls
personally tho i would go for grandstand seats if i was to go again, it is a long day doing GA as you have to be there very early to get a good spot and im talking about 8am and your there til about 4 plus both of you cant leave your spot at the same time (i wouldnt risk someone nicking my seats) where as at least with a grandstand seat you can have a wander about and not worry about losing your spot0 -

Yea, GS seats do have their advantages, but come with a price. If you had to choose a GS, which one/s would you choose?0 -

looking at the map if you wanted a cheapish GS then possibly N or G or B
but it all depends on what you want
in this years race the DRS zone was activated at the last corner for the main straight so i would be tempted to go there as you would see much more action but its more expensive0 -

a cheapish GS ticket aint so cheap when there's two of us going. I can possibly get 2 GA for the price of one GA ticket as they are currently only £86 each (bookf1.com)
GS start from £157 for a view recommend by you so its decision time! lol
We're always up early and don't mind (she wont mind!) heading over to track early doors to get the best seats/place/location for General Admission.
If that is the case, can you suggest a good GA location?0 -
just head there early enough on the friday and have a look for yourself, it wont be too busy on the fri that you wont find a good spot for the first practice, then you can always move somewhere else for practice 2 or the support qualifying etc0

Do you mean purchase GA tickets but roam the stands Fri and Sat, then find a good place for standing on the Sunday for race day?0
