Yes, I've had a Hyundai Trajet (7 seat people carrier) for just over 4 years. I got the TDGsi version soon after they first became available in the UK. I bought it from a dealer as a pre-registered car so it was effectively "brand new" - but got a huge discount on the list price (a big discount is needed due to the high depreciation of Hyundai vehicles - unless you keep the vehicle for a long time). The vehicle came with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty from first registration date - but I have never had cause to use it.
Running costs are not too bad even though it is not the most fuel efficient 2.0 litre diesel around - it still manages just under 40 mpg. It is slightly smaller than Ford Galaxy and the like but it still has plenty of space and 7 individual seats with lots of flexibility in the seating arrangements. However, the seats that are not being used have to be stored somewhere since they don't fold flat - and they are quite big and heavy items to have to lift around.
All in all I've been quite happy with the vehicle and would suggest that people consider this vehicle as a slightly smaller alternative to the more traditional 7-seater people carriers. What goes around - comes around.
Give lots and you will always receive lots.0 -
Another vote for the Picasso. Other half went from a Saab convertible to one and loves it, go figure!! I was a bit dubious at first but seems fine, good space. 2.0Hdi diesel the best one.0

I agree with the Picasso, get loads of stuff in there, and the two dogs are happy in the boot.
slightly off topic...but I can only get 32mpg from my 2.0HDI, short journeys around town, but still nowhere near the manufacturers figures. What does anyone else get around town in a Picasso0 -
I reckon I get about 37mpg in town, and 47mpg on long runs - but my 'town' isn't London, traffic does at least move up here.0

VW CARAVELLE!
they will still be worth somthing in 5 years.
drive like a car + all the back seats come out for those trips to the tip etc.0 -

I've had my Berlongo for 5 years now and it is the best car I have ever had. I'm not a petrolhead so a car is just a practical way of getting around to me. It drives fine, has never let me down and is very economical, despite having the now-obsolete 1.9 diesel engine. FIL has the 2.0 Hdi, which he loves. But the latest ones are 1.6Hdi.
The best thing about it for your needs is the space. 5 adults get in comfortably, and the load space is huge. The back seats fold down to give you a full size van when needed. As Clarkson said when he reviewed it, 'If you need more space, buy a field!'0
