Thanks for all the good wishes for DS1.

I've been brought down to earth now as DD2 has smeared lipstick all over her duvet, pillow and the bedroom wall. I'm soaking the bedding in cold water and dissolved ariel stain remover. The wall was attacked with vinegar. It's still a bit pink but is looking much better.

My nephew has got into his first choice university so we have more good news to celebrate.

I'm off to tackle a HHI if anyone wants to join in?

Good luck for all those with kids getting results!

  • Good Afternoon to all you good people. Hope your day is going well and that those of you who have kids receiving their results today, hope they get the grades they want!

Didn't get through the list of jobs yesterday as sorted out the garage, went to collect a guinea pig run from Freecycle and had to catch up on some sleep.

Today's list is out the window to as been out most of the morning with DD having her first horse riding lesson - which she loved - just got to get a job now so that she carry on having lessons .

Got to put all the washing away and get the ironing done today and I want to sort out my plant pots which are looking very very sad. Anyway on with the day ...

Have chaffeured OH and almost finished decluttering cod in living room. Various bags in boot of car to be taken to different places and other stuff flung. :D It's a start.

    Today I need to:
    fly - WIP, started
    research home insurance
    find the missing library book
    buy eggs
    DVLA form
    take plastic rubbish
    call at charity shop
make appointment at bank for next week
    post office

OH is going out with a friend later and I'll use the opportunity to do some catching up of my own. ;) Nothing wrong, just better done by myself.

Brain not quite awake yet, I think. Forgot to say:
Sending successful hunting vibes to everyone looking for a job and thinking of all of you waiting to hear about exam results. I'm sure there was more...

DD2 got ABCCC in her AS's! She was predictably gutted to get a C in Photography ( had been told A by the teacher) but delighted to get an A in Geography and B in Sociology!

She is in Weymouth - and predictably ended up in floods of tears!

We have told her to be proud - COS WE ARE!!!

Our solicitor has received the mortgage funds which will be released into the banking system first thing in the morning. I wonder how long it will take for them to be received so we can get the keys.

A few things left to pack, the removals arrive at 9 and my mum just after 10. Not sure what time we will be getting up yet (I feel like a kid at Christmas at the mo) but I want everything packed in boxes/in our cars by the time they arrive so we can just follow behind cleaning. We probably won't be that organised but I can hope.

Congratulations to your DD2, CY. Great results, even if she is disappointed with one of them. Might be worth finding out why the teacher's estimate was so far out and maybe there's a chance of a re-mark.
Pigpen - That's exactly where I was with DS1 last year. Difficult to forget that his results and I mattered so little (he was busy hanging out with his mates).
    You're doing really well, aj.

OH has sorted his hours for next week and knows that he can go home whenever he needs to. Have told him to do half-days at the most, so I hope he'll listen.

DS1 is sulking because of a misunderstood comment and won't tell me exactly when he's going out, so my plan to nip out has fallen through. Never mind, I'll do the rest of it later. Anyway, I've put adverts for two useful items in the local free ads paper, so I hope they'll be gone by Monday. :T
Going to forage for food and then carry on decluttering in the living room. :D

The kitchen currently looks like a wet room and I don't look much further on. Have just been taking a shelf/drawer at a time out of the fridge & freezer and everything has now been scrubbed, can just wipe that in the morning too :D Next to be done is the hob and the the fronts of all the units and the cupboards that have been emptied since I cleaned the other day. Maybe after that I will do the patio but TBH I am not too bothered whether we do that or not.

I have piled stuff that still needs to be packed and can't go into boxes on the bed, if we want to sleep tonight we will have to sort it
