Dishwashers- need a reliable one?

Our died yesterday after 5+ years of service. It was a
Zunucci so know they are ok, but which other makes are.
Wouldn't bother but I suffer from Fibromyalgia and can't

If your budget permits it, buy a Miele, if not look at a Bosch/Neff/Siemens. Probably one of the best value for money options going in the market with excellent reliability and service backup

Just what I was going to say. I scoped out dishwashers in the week as ours is giving out 'i may not be much longer for this world' signs. It was a Bosch that ticked all my boxes as it was extremely water efficient and I have a water meter so that's a top consideration for me but I was also considering Miele and Siemens. The Bosch one was being sold with a 'manufacturer's promotion' 2 year parts & labour warranty, which was also attractive.

AFAIK 2 year warranty on Bosch is standard.

The Bosch dishwasher you mention I suppose is the one that used 6 litres per wash. While this information is accurate, please also consider some other factors such as the additional price of this model over the next most efficient one and do some back of the envelope calculations to ensure that the extra cost (if any) is justifiable.

  • i bought a bosch 2 years ago as they always seemed to get a good feedback, but never again, its the worst appliance i have evr had, it was mid range so not an entry price, and i wouldnt buy bosch again after this one. theres nothing physically wrong with it, its just simply not very good, ie lots of stains etc left even though 99% of our usage is very lightly dirtied items

We have a Bosch DW and its perfect - washes are 100% spotless.
We always keep topped up with rinse aid and use premium tablets that be bulk buy from Costco or Makro when on offer.
We have a water softener so we do not add salt.

I also have a Bosch washing machine, fridge freezer and kettle all of which are over 3 yrs old and not a blip mechanically from any of them.
The milk holder shelf in the fridge cracked a few month ago but that was the wife being heavy handed.
Bear in mind the fridge freezer is out of warranty, I called the service desk and they kindly sent me a new one for free.
They said that they may send me a survey to rate and feedback the Bosch appliances shortly and that if I could fill it in a return it it would be of help to them.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
I'm on my second Bosch DW so I would recommend them. The first died a death at approx 9 years old, having been used at least once a day for all that time. To replace it I got another Bosch, basically the same model, but updated. It works well, and I am happy with it with only one proviso. The previous one had a quick wash (25-30 mins) and a quick "proper" hot wash cycle of 55 mins which cleaned all but the most stubborn burnt on food.
The quickest proper hot wash on the new one is 2 hours, and the quick wash is only 20 mins. This is fine for light food stains, but means the oven baked dishes don't get clean and need the wash which takes 6x longer which is ridiculous!!

    It's only a game

In the end because funds wouldn't allow anything else at
the moment we have gone for a Beko one, hubby did manage to
repair the other one for a couple of weeks though.

What would have been wrong with hubby donning the marigolds himself?

    Cheers

Bosch/Siemens/Neff are same models, all built in same factory, with cosmetic branding differences.

Nothing but as he already does 90% of the cooking because of
my illness then that is why we have a dishwasher.
