I hope you haven't left it a bit late.
I am going to Dubai a bit sooner than your parents but hotels were booking up very very quickly.

I,ve also stayed at the Burj and I have to say I was a bit dissapointed with it.Sure the rooms are massive and everythings covered in gold but it was just too ott for me.Another thing is that there is no privacy because as soon as you leave your room (even for 5 mins) there are staff in plumping the cushions and changing towels and making your day bed into your night bed.It just got a bit tiring after a while and I did not feel like I could relax totally. By contrast the Jumeriah beach hotel across from the Burj was fantastic, get an executive room and you get access to the lounge which has free soft drinks all day, free afternoon tea and free cocktails for 2 hours at night..fantastic.
If your folks are still stuck on going to the Burj then I suggest looking at Bestattravel.co.uk who gave us a fantastic deal on the Burj and Jumeriah hotels.
Good luck and hope your folks enjoy their trip.

  • Many thanks everyone for your helpful and informative postings. Bestattravel seems to be getting my parents business (they have used them many times and have been very happy), the flights are held and they have the room available at the Burj for their dates. Best can also do the One and Only Royal Mirage Palace for 6 nights H/Board Offer for just over £1,000 - now I'm tempted, as for some strange reason they wont pay for another room for little old me !! They say Palms construction is more a nuisance from the Arabian Court part of the hotel, does anyone know if its best to go for a high floor or ground floor at the Palace please?
