I am trying to find out the best possible deal/operator/agent to go through to book the Burj - pref on BB basis. This is for my parents who are planning an elaborate well earned retirement holiday, as I have almost convinced them to experience the once in a lifetime Burj!! Any help will be gratefully received and thanked.
Forgot to mention, they are looking to go around the 29th January 2007 for 5 or 7 nights

the best deal would be to go through the hotel website and book there costing for a delux double for 7 days aed 33,600 (£4800) that includes hotel tax
flights would be
emirates = heathrow to dubai £710 to £840 for two peaple depending on what time you want to fly
etihad = heathrow to abu dhabi $594 for 2 people
etihad is a much better airline than emirates and you dont have to worry about flying to abu dhabi not dubai as etihad pick you up from etihad and take you to dubai (then catch a taxi to jemirah) or they do a limousine transfer to dubai if that is better (would still work out cheaper than emirates)
if you do book the hotel i would make sure you book the resturant first as i know for non residents there is a 3 month waiting list, it should be ok for residents but it would be worth double checking first
if you want any more help with dubai just pm me

Well, they say it's all about opinions.
I would never classify Etihad above Emirates: the 6 flights I've had on Etihad have been disasters.
Oh, and i'd never pay that much for the Burj (well, i'd never pay for the Burj), I know that Tour Operators get nett rates far below the rates you've quoted.
If you compare a good Tour Operator with booking direct, I think you'd amaze yourself howmuch you can save.0 -

i fly with etihad twice a month from manchester to abu dhabi and never had a problem the flights are ever hardly full always get an extra legroom seat food is good and i have never been delayed, in fact most times the flight arrives earlyHi there! etihad is a much better airline than emirates
Quite a subjective statement. I would say each has their pros and cons.
Etihad planes are newer and in econ probably better than Emirates. The IFE is probably better on Etihad (unless you are lucky enough to get the ICE system on Emirates). Service can be hit and miss on either airline. Dubai airport is probably much better than Abu Dhabi though (Emirates use Dubai, Etihad use Abu Dhabi).
In terms of the hotel, you should try booking a flight + hotel package through one of the tour operators, reckon you will get better value. I'm pretty sure you may be able to get a decent business class air fare package with the hotel stay."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
Also as an alternative hotel, possibly the One and Only Mirage is wonderful.0

I'm travelling with Travel Dubai on Saturday (eek!) and got an excellent deal to Le Royal Meridien Resort & Spa for 5 nights with free half board and upgrade to Club Room & private airport transfer. This is with Virgin flights and all in it was £1500 for 2 adults. I have booked an Indulgent Afternoon Tea at the Burj for next Thursday and can't wait!!!!0

Cant help with your query but just wanted to say that the Burj is FAB. I stayed for 3 nights and WOW. Words cant do it justice.
Please tell your parents I am free anytime and more than happy to carry their bags for them!.
They will have a fab time and it really is an experience to remember.0 -
Have you looked at booking through Kuoni?
Seven nights from the 29th from Gatwick (Etihad) is £5808. If you search around there are companies that will knock at least 5% off that also.
I hope they have a fantastic time! xGone ... or have I?0
