Hi,
My laptop is on Media center, and it has a port for me to put my TV aerial in, but once I've put it in, MCE won't find it!
Please could you help me to sort this out? Thankyou.

Thanks, apparantly I need an adapter to connect my aerial to the laptop directly.. It is meant to go into the "CATV" connection, and I have a normal TV Aerial cable.. Right now the aerial fits in but it is a very loose connection, the Alienware support told me I need an adapter to fix it, but I have no idea what and they don't to! http://4help.alienware.com/cgi-bin/alienware.cfg/php/admin/console_util/fa_get.php?p_sid=TR9JCWioJm&p_file_id=22153&p_localfname=0809/11236006369851-phpN1Wb1f&p_userfname=img002.JPG&p_content_type=image/pjpegGreenNotM wrote:Check here - if your model is mentioned http://4help.alienware.com/cgi-bin/alienware.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?p_sid=-C3SVXqi&p_lva=1209&p_li=&p_accessibility=0&p_page=1&p_cv=&p_pv=&p_prods=&p_cats=0&p_hidden_prods=&cat_lvl1=0&p_scf_c_language=205&p_search_text=tv+tuner&p_new_search=1&p_search_type=answers.search_fnl
It could be the top one in that image - but I don't know what it is, or if it's the right one!0 -
Looks like an aerial co-ax to Phono adaptor. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Thanks, looks like one of these I guess: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RCA-PHONO-PLUG-CABLE-TO-COAX-RF-COAXIAL-TV-AERIAL-LEAD_W0QQitemZ230010984963QQihZ013QQcategoryZ32837QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemespresso wrote:Looks like an aerial co-ax to Phono adaptor.
So one end would go into my laptop and the aerial would go into the other?0 -
Yes but that cable may not be the best quality. If you used an adaptor like in the picture, you can use the cable of your choice i.e. low loss double screened satellite cable. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Not without searching but 12M of crap cable could attenuate your signal. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

Is only 1.2M - that kinda looks like the cable that goes from a video recorder to a TV - Ashok can you borrow on of those to try > may be wrong I don't do TV ..... :rolleyes:Rich people save then spend.
