problems with "the phone buyer"

I sent off a mobile phone to an on-line phone recycling company called "thephonebuyer.com", I have used this company in the past and had prompt payment on three occasions so when they offered the most for my last phone i didn't heitate to use them again. The problem is I sent the phone off over a month ago and on their website on my account it still says "awaiting reciept", but according to Royal Mail it was delivered the next day! I have sent numerous e-mails and messages via their web-site but have had no replies.
They don't have a contact number and I don't know what else I can do, if anyone can give me some pointers as to what I should do next I would greatly appreciate it.
The phone was valued at £152 so its quite a lot of money to loose!:(

Did you send it recorded? If so, what does the RoyalMail web site say re tracking?

Yes i sent it recorded and according to royal mail website the parcel was tracked and recieved the day after i sent it.

Bit naughty but the OP could phone the people who developed their site (link at the bottom of the page), and ask them for a contact number for thephonebuyer.com

I sent a Blackberry to thephonebuyer.com as they had offered me £64 for it. I sent it recorded delivery. The phone was collected on 29th July and signed for by a D. White. I waited for payment but received nothing. After a week I emailed thephonebuyer.com but received nothing back. I sent 6 emails and a recorded letter asking for my money but all was ignored.

The letter I sent was also signed for and collected from the Fleet Royal Mail delivery office but was ignored. I contacted Royal Mail who confirmed they have had a number of complaints about non payment from this company and do have CCTV of my phone being collected if the police request it.

I have since contacted Trading Standards and the police. I have registered my phone stolen with the police and they are invrstigating this company for fraud. Trading Standards have also had a number of complaints and are investigating.

I have since found out that this company is registered to a Karen White 420 Aldershot Road Fleet. Email contact: sales@thephonebuyer.com. The website is powered by buckle consulting as advertised on the site.

I contacted the police fraud department and Trading Standards to give them details of this person. I then sent an email informing them that they were under investigation and that details had been passed to the police and Trading Standards. I received a response within 2 hours telling me that everything was an oversight and to email the tracking number. I did this. Within a day £64 appeared in my bank account.

Anyone who has had problems with thephonebuyer or mobilephonebuyer please contact consumer direct fraud investigation on 0300 123 2040 . They are investigating these people for taking people's phones and not paying.
