Hi folks, I've been searching for a cheap & reliable broadband only deal.
Virgin Media offer:
Large 40GB monthly download
£20/month
12 month minimum contract
Might have to pay £36 for connection/set up
Does anyone know any cheaper deals? Cheers

Is this ADSL? If so look around may be better offers available.0

That's pretty expensive - if you're not in need of huge downloads check out Plusnet, they seem pretty spot on price-wiseI am an IFA, but nothing I say on this forum constitutes financial advice. Always draw your own conclusions and always do your own research.0

I'm also with Plusnet - have had a fantastic service from them. Starts at £9.99/month (can add extra GBs for £1) and only a month - month contract.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

The main issue with getting JUST broadband is that you still need to pay line rental, except with cable. For this reason, Virgin Media's cable broadband is often the cheapest (except for cheap broadband with strict bandwidth limits). For a proper recommendation it'd be useful if you say what you want/need in terms of speed and bandwidth limits. You should also check your estimated speed for ADSL2+ based on postcode using SamKnows.
For people who want unlimited broadband, I usually recommend Virgin Media and Be. 10 Mbps from Virgin works out as £19.75pm over 12 months. Be's 12 Mbps (maximum, depends on distance to exchange) is £17pm but you need a phone line, which'd be at least another £6.79pm (Primus Line Rental Saver).0 -
