    I wouldn't switch antiviruses just yet. What site are you on when you get the Malwarebytes messages?

    Could you run the following scans:
    1. TDSSKiller (http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.exe) - let us know if it finds anything

    2. Hitmanpro (http://dl.surfright.nl/HitmanPro35_x64.exe) - don't worry about cookies, but clean any trojans, etc (unless you believe it to be a false positive).
    Ooops too late for that, I uninstalled avast just as I came off here and re-installed MSE with no probs this time, then left it to scan while out with dog, now back to see your post.
    Nothing found on kapersky or hitmanpro.
    The only sites Ive been on today are here, hotukdeals, facebook, play and amazon. And also 2 of the survey sites I do surveys for. Oh and also AOL. The msgs must have came up on a few of those as it came up a couple of times, but no idea which ones and not had any since this morning either.

    I posted in the what security do you use thread, and RussJk suggested I open a new thread with my hijackthis log in, to see what Im running.
    This is my OP;
    Hi, Im after some advice please. I was running microsoft security essentials and avast on my lappy. Now wether coincidence or not, I ran scans with both a few weeks back, nothing found, I then had lots of updates done by microsoft when switching off which were taking ages. Then I noticed that microsoft security had been deleted from my lappy. I ran scan again with avast, and nothing, so tried to re-install MSE, but got error code, which basically they said meant it couldnt download with any other sercurity programs being on my lappy. Now a friend told me to download and run Malwarebytes, which I did and it found nothing. Pretty sure this is now trying to compete with avast as it keeps popping up its blocked avast from doing stuff.
    My question is, should I delete Avast and then try and re-install MSE, should I run avast with the malware and not bother with MSE, or should I delete them all and someone suggest a better plan?
    I dont have any problems with my lappy, it seems to be running fine, other than the battery has stopped warning me its getting low, but thats been doing that for ages. Sorry if I dont sound in the know, Im not, hope someone can help me. Thanks.
    Will put the log in next post as it seems quite long.

    some AV/SI apps will not work if others are installed. i remember when i got my dell desktop it come with a 60 day trial of mcafee. i have the mcafee disc and their was nothing displayed on my computer that mcafee was already installed, so i went to install Kaspersly but this failed due to mcafee already being installed. it took me ages to track down the mcafee files to remove these.

    Hopefully then it was just Malwarebytes blocking a malicious advertisement:

    Since you've uninstalled Avast, make sure you've used their removal tool, as Avast is much like AVG and rather poor at uninstalling properly (http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear.exe).

    You could consider switching to Firefox, and using 'Adblock Plus' with Easylist (and the Malware Domains list http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions). This would block nearly all ads (including malicious ones), as well as block content from known bad sites.

    Just an extra layer of security.

    Did you run the McAfee removal tool?
