Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Just caught up with some of the lovely projects posted. So inspiring as usual. I made my little Christmas kits into cards and they look lovely. Hoping to pick my needle up again after Christmas to do the season kit I got from h@bbycraft a while ago.
Take care everyone

JUST what I was going to suggest!:T
HP Sauce - loving those designs, the one with the pups looks very detailed, how long did that take you?
Hi Louise, it took me about 4 weeks.
Phew, just caught up with the whole thread!
I've just finished another picture at the beginning of the week. It's at the framers now so I will post a better pic once it's back
In the meantime I finished this little freebie yesterday
I've got nothing to stitch now so I'm going to have to go shopping tomorrow!Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0 -
Lovely pics HP_Sauce. I think I have the teddy one somewhere - will save it for next christmas now.
Cross Stitch Crazy arrived yesterday - just had a little peep at it so far. Ordered two mags subs as xmas gift from DS (WOXS 5 for £5 and 3 for £5 Cross Stitch Card Shop). Promise I shut my eyes whilst ordering them and it will be a complete suprise when I receive them.
Had some lovely comments on the cross stitch cards I have sent to people - they cant understand how I usually find it relaxing (well thats until I go wrong or drop the needle down side of sofa). Listened to an item on tv the other day and they were asking people for comments on receiving homemade gifts/cards. Some did not like the idea at all and thought it was quite naff. How have your cards/gifts usually been received?
Hope you all have a productive weekend.

Thank you B_e_g
I made cards this year too and had similar comments...I suppose this means it will be come a tradition now I :-)
I won 22 card kits off ebay the other day so I'm ready for next year! I like stitching cards as you get quick results!Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0 -
Am tempted to do cards now - especially if they're quick:p
Have made some beady decorations for tree and started on an Advent quilt I've found lurking in my crafty cupboard. Aim is to have it done by the end of Christmas so I can put it up at the start of Advent next year.
Need dh to take the kids out so I can play with new sewing machine but it keeps raining.Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Mine have always been well recieved as far as I'm aware (I usually just stick to family for handmade stuff).
Tbh if someone didn't like something handmade or thought it was naff I wouldn't give a monkeys and they could do without for being ungrateful about the effort that was put in.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Good luck with your cards HP Sauce. I keep promising myself to have a little stash of cards ready so that I'm not always rushing making them at the last minute but it just hasn't happened yet
Oooooohhhhh new sewing machine Dora - an early christmas pressie by any chance. My sewing machine is thirtly odd years old and held together with sellotape. Keep looking at new ones but can't seem to justify cost for the amount it gets used these days especally when old one still does the job.
Thanks for your comments Louise. I bought a couple of christmas cards last year (decoupage I think) and I sent one to my aunt this year. She phoned me to say she had received it and asked if I had made it as it was beautiful. I took that as a compliment (sure thats what she meant). Hope all is well for you Louise x
Still haven't got round to starting any new stitchy stuff but I did tidy my stitching stuff yesterday as it had become a bit of a dumping ground.
Have a great day everyoneSPC NO 041STARTED SW 04/14 - TARGET 05/16 - TOTAL LOSS 10ST 3.5LBS :dance:0 -

It was a bit of an impulse buy at the Harrogate show but is replacing one that arrived here via freecycle and that they no longer make bobbins for so every third stitch it shreds loads of thread and I have to start again. Have to make all of dd's dancing outfits and show is coming up in Feb.
Was an investment for dd too as she is wanting to alter clothes. She has had a go on the old machine but can't get the foot co-ordination, panics and then sets off at top speed and this machine will work without using pedal, and has a VERY slow speed if you want (which I do!)
Am hoping to get some free time these holidays to get used to the machine and hoping the birthday fairy in Feb can book me on a basics course.
Have I justified it enough yet?:rotfl:Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly
