At one new store opening i was involved with people started to queue the day before!
You can request feedback via Head Office and they will contact the store/interviewer who will call you directly with feedback but as i said earlier usually with new store openings the sheer volume of people applying means that esentially we have 50-100 people per job role to choose from.
This just shows how capitalism is robbing our society of morality. As surely as night follows day capitalism will come crumbling down. On a mission to secure a just and ethical society.0 -
Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes, I can imagine the sheer volume of applicants the firm must get for each new store. I was told this too by the manager from whom I requested feedback.
I will try not to let it get me down too much, though it's very hard to try and keep optimistic when you face constant unemployment, day in, day out.MorrisonsEmployee wrote: »A new store opening can attract in the region of 5,000 - 10,000 applicants for around 150-200 jobs so there is always going to be a high level of rejection, When a new store opens Morrisons always attempt to give as many people as possible an interview and usually book out local venues for days/weeks to do so. The thing with new store openings is that you may have passed the interview but if others got a higher score they will be selected - Its worth trying again after the store has been open for a while for any new positions that may have been created, You can download an application form from www.iwantafreshstart.com
Also i have no idea what position you applied for but the Morrisons career website is updated daily with positions from Supervisor upwards. It really is worth applying again if any vacancies do come up and you already have the experience of an interview with Morrisons - Good luck!
Also its a really good idea that you have requested feedback - It could be something simple that you might say or do which could go against you in interviews and you could change or work on.
I hope you find something soon.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the feedback I obtained from the HR Manager did reassure me somewhat, as he told me that I did get good marks for my app form and interview, but that the competition (again) was high and so there were people who had more retail experience than myself. However, he also went on to say that I could try again once the store was open, in case anybody did not take up their positions. I m!y do that.
I will take your advice and keep trying.MorrisonsEmployee wrote: »The thing with new store openings is that you may have passed the interview but if others got a higher score they will be selected - Its worth trying again after the store has been open for a while for any new positions that may have been created, You can download an application form from www.iwantafreshstart.com

Just wanted to say, as one who has criticised you for a negative attitude in the past, in the last month or so I have seen a real change and a renewed determination in you.
Well done, it is not easy. Very best of luck, and I am sure this will be a huge step forward in your job search. I hope something comes good for you soon, it is all a big numbers game. keep plugging away.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Hi Emmzi
Thanks for your reply. Great to hear from you. Glad to know that your opinion of me has now changed.
Yes, I am very determined to get a job, and have certainly taken every bit of advice I can from everybody here. Naturally, the last thing I wanted to do was to convey a bitter, incessantly moaning image of myself, as I am not that sort of person by nature.
Anyway, I am continuing to pursue every possible means I can with a view to eventually finding a job, and as I say, am assimilating all the advice people are giving me.Just wanted to say, as one who has criticised you for a negative attitude in the past, in the last month or so I have seen a real change and a renewed determination in you.

Have you submitted an application form and not heard anything back? Or had an interview?:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
