Leaving negative feedback

I just recently went through the NPB process, received my final value fee back, strike recorded on buyers account, l left feedback sounding not so positive at all, and the feedback then given to me by the buyer in reply afterwards was 'Excellent Ebayer' l do wonder if she was aware she received a strike (-:0

Mutually cancelled transactions can still have feedback left by both parties....;)
I didn't know that. I've been going through my feedback and leaving feedback for others. For any Mutuals or NPBs (and I have more than one of each), I have not been able to leave feedback.Art_Vandelay wrote: »Which is true, but as one NPB gracefully pointed out to me recently they thought it "is alright" if they bid on things and don't pay, because ebay "like it" as that is the reason they stopped buyers from getting negative feedback (appparently).
But generally, yes, if your selling preferences are tight it is sometimes surprising to see how many NPB have been blocked from bidding on your auctions.
Pardon my ignorance, but how do you see who has been blocked from bidding on particular auctions? I already know how to see my blocked bidders list, ie people I have added myself...0 -

On your Buyer requirements, there's an activity log, that will tell you who has been blocked from bidding & why.
My last blocked bidder was for low FB & not meeting specified criteria. A newbie who I assume didn't have a credit card on file.
She now has several false positives from sellers as she's buying & not paying.
Hopefully they are all going through the NPB process as she now has enough +FB to be able to bid without needing a credit card & so sellers will need the 2 strikes in 12 months to block her.
I've just checked on what the buyer above has won, since she joined in July she has won 32 auctions, totalling £584.96 the only FB she has been left are the false positives, she's left none, so an awful lot of sellers don't have their buyer requirements set to block time wasters like her.
I would have thought that ebay would close her account, unless the sellers aren't giving her strikes.0 -

While it's an occupational hazard of selling on eBay, where the disconnect between item closing and payment allows this to happen but no suitable solution, particularly for auction items, exists, and while it's sometimes appropriate to do a mutual cancellation rather than an NPB dispute (e.g. if the buyer had turned up to see the TV and disagreed with your description), there's no need to let these people who are obviously silly bidders muck people about and the quickest way of sorting it out is to do the strike.
Negs do nothing to warn people about numpties and everything to pee off decent buyers who are on the receiving end of poor sellers who used them to retaliate rather than take themselves in hand."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

She was probably thanking you for leaving her a lovely shiny positive which ups her score and leaves her less vulnerable to ebay suspending her.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The amount of non payers is not unique to ebay incidentally
One of the auction houses I attend require a £50 deposit in cash left for your bididng paddle and they keep that if you fail to pay for your goods as they have had so many people just walk out and not bother. Two others at least that I visit have huge numbers of unpaids, only a few months ago one auctineer remarked that she felt an item was cursed as this was the 4th time of selling as on the three previous occasions the buyer had gone without payingI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I've also heard that people dislike Amazon because buyers can leave items sat in their baskets, which holds it for them but then not check out for ages, leaving the item in unpaid limbo. Because I've never sold there, that's just my impression from reading around the subject.
When I buy on Amazon I usually use 1-click and then edit my order to get the free postage etc. that Amazon themselves offer, but anywhere, it's an issue that IMO is just not worth the stress of getting worked up about. I do always do disputes, but sometimes it's really better just to let go of it. If it really gets to you then don't sell on eBay and use a site where payment is more or less simultaneous with item closing."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I hear some of the non-eBay auction sites have difficulty with NPBs as well.

Does adding the item to the basket remove the item from the marketplace as I've had a couple times had an item saved in my basket and the next day find it's unavailable (which I put down to someone else buying it)?0 -

As I said I'm not an Amazon seller and had only heard that that was the case. Then again, Amazon have a very simple MO and eBay's system - which allows for a variable end price and various payment methods - is more complicated. As eBay's system has grown more towards electronic payments though they have streamlined the non-payment dispute system, which is welcome."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
