Cheque Centre taking money without consent

Options
Hi all, new to the forum and im looking for a bit of advice for a friend, wasnt sure where to post this either.

She had a payday loan with cheque centre and lost her debit card, got a new one and was paying paying back the loan on a month by month basis as agreed by them, last month they took her new debit card details.

She has checked her bank this morning and £700 has been taken by the cheque centre without her authorisation. She is going to call them at 9 but the bank said there is nothing they can do, and is now left with no money for the month.

How would she be able to get the money back, if at all? surely the company cant do this without her authorisation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes they can, and unfortunately, no there is nothing you can do about it. My advice to your friend is to speak to a family member and see if the family can tide her over. Do not go to another PDL company and for the love of little green apples, stay away from these lenders in future.

PDLs are legalised loan sharks. Go hungry, walk to work, stand on a street corner if you must, but never ever borrow money from these people....your friend has had a lucky escape...some people are trapped with no way out..ever
