Hi Vodafone Representative.
I owned a vodafone 3g datacard in 2008. In a nutshell the 3g datacard did not work on a mac. I took it back to the store and to cut a long story short, the store (Oxford) took it back and told me the contract was cancelled and that I should cancel the direct debit. I did this and then due to some clerical error on vodafones behalf I started getting payments due and then a defaulted account (IE very bad credit score). When I realised this was happening I immediately contacted the store again who rectified the issue and I was sent a statement of account showing that the money I supposedly owed had been credited back to the account (refunded) and that the account was closed.
However vodafone never removed this from my credit record. I only found out about this a couple of weeks ago as I have applied for a mortgage and was declined on the equifax credit report. This is the only negative thing on my credit report and the only reason it has been declined. They have offered me an alternative mortgage which is an additional £60 per month. The amount that was supposedly owed and then refunded by Vodafone was about £131 so if this is not resolved in haste I will be suffering at the cost of £700 per year for vodafones error.
I have contacted customer services 5 times now, each time I have been told they will fill in a paper form and send it off internally as the account cannot be found (apparently it is too old to be on the online record).
I have had a reply from vodafone email support saying they cannot help as it is an issue I have to look into with a debt collector working on behalf of vodafone. I can see from the reply to that email that the individual responsible for the reply does not understand what I am asking and has not actually replied to the question I have asked.
I am extremely frustrated. Why was this there in the first place. Why am I having to deal with this now?
I am a vodafone business customer and pay for vodafone for myself and my employees. I am appealed at this aggressive approach and then lack of rectification.
You are my last hope. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact me and help me resolve this.
Please contact me via this forum or alternatively the account number for this account was:
277403751/00001
The invoice number where the money was refunded and the account was settled was:
277403751012 on 26 June 2009 amount £131.47
My contact details have changed since this account. Please contact me on (phone number hidden) (new vodafone number)

Just so you are aware - this is a public forum where sometimes a Vodafone rep passes by. You might be better going to their own website forum for a quicker reply - it will be dealt with by the same people.
All you will get on here is them asking you to contact them by another means.0 -
Thanks Robt. I just have hit a bit of a dead end on the vodafone forum as all I ended up with was an incredibly unhelpful email from a member of staff who obviously did not understand what I was asking for and thought I was contesting a fine, which I am not!!
I thought best to post on a community forum like this so that others who are looking into purchasing a mobile can see the issues caused by Vodafone and how ridiculously harsh they are. I also thought I may get a response quicker so they can be seen to be a company who resolve matters speedily for disgruntled and messed around customers.0 -

Hi Lee,
I Haven't heard anything from Vodafone yet. Do you know when I will here? Time is ticking on between me having to sign the mortgage agreement on bad terms and being able to rectify this with the underwriters. Do you know how long this will take?
I was told over 20 days ago on my initial contact with vodafone that it would take a maximum of 14 days to resolve.
Please help!!!0 -
its the weekend, give them chanceDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Hi Lee,
Got your email available anytime please try my mobile thanks!0 -
In my view, and probably a court's view, if a company defames you by giving incorrect information about you to a third party (e.g. Vodafone giving wrong information about you to Equifax), then you would have a case to sue them for libel and seek damages. The damages in this case would be the higher cost of borrowing as a result of your damaged credit rating. I have twice threatened lenders with legal action for libel where they have reported incorrect information about me to credit reference agencies. In both cases, they paid the compensation I asked for in full and rectified the incorrect information.0

Arrrrgh Vodafone and their wonderful WRT - bout as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
Rubbished my credit history too - I can say without much fear of being proved wrong that SADLY you have no chance of getting this bunch to correct their mistakes they will use every trick they can.
Sorry to rant but I spent many a wasted hour on the net and phone to the likes of Lee and Co.0
