The £100,000+ Mortgage Club

Options
Hi,

This may or may not be a good idea for a thread, but I thought it would be worthwhile having a thread where all the people with mortgages of at least £100,000 can keep everyone else updated and motivated to keep going.

I'll try and keep this opening page updated with the details of everyones thread and outstanding balances.

Anyway, a summary of my mortgate situation.

Good idea, that; if I'm allowed multiple mortgages that total over 100k, I'll muck in.

    Original loaned amount: GBP 162,650
    Current outstanding: GBP: 151,669.57

Not doing TOO badly, but I am taking on another mortgage in the next couple of months... Some might call it insanity.

    I would too :rotfl:

I'd like to join in here please. We live abroad and have just bought and renovated a house as it looks as if we'll be staying put for a while. Our mortgage is massive although interest payments can be offset against tax and interest rates are very low. I feel really uncomfortable with this huge debt and want to start getting rid of it asap, so I'm going to break it down (in my mind) into smaller targets to reach.
I'm going to start to put money away i an interest bearing account so I can use that to make lump payments (we're fixed rate) when possible. I'm also going to check out investing a regular amount in fund to get some money in stocks and shares.

We're surely here for the long term!
    Trying to keep in budget.
