Hi,
I've been asked by a friend to switchback his Windows 7 OS with Windows XP. I've never done this before, though I have reinstalled XP on my own computer on numerous occassions. I just want confirmation that it's the same procedure. He has the setup CD and product ID.
Thanks

Yes, it is exactly the same procedure. Just boot from Windows XP CD and do a quick (or full) format and then install XP

I'm curious. Why would they want to do that? There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.

Same as someone who wants to go back to using candles/torches/gas lights perhaps

I reverted to Win XP from Vista, because Vista was a collossal pain in the a*se.0

You may well find driver problems if the hardware is reasonably new XP wont know what it is .Pays to download drivers to disc before hand .
Plus if its an original XP their will be a large number of updates to download on first use .

That was a good move by all accounts, but W7 is a decent OS. Maybe they want to 'downgrade' from W7 Starter. What can XP do that W7 Starter can't? I only know that the background pic can't be changed!I reverted to Win XP from Vista, because Vista was a collossal pain in the a*se.0 -

Oh, but it can.0 -
OK where I read this it did mention some 3rd party software you can use to customise the background, but the point I was making is that people don't generally know the differences between XP and W7 Starter. At least that is my perception; would be happy to be corrected!stilltheone wrote: »Oh, but it can.0 -
Windows XP has so many security holes in it is beyond belief. And it is now end of life so it is only getting critical security flaws fixed and MS are no longer releasing new software so IE is stuck at version 8 (IE9 and later won't install on XP), Direct X at version 9 and its likely that future Windows Live apps (Mail/Messenger etc) won't support XP.0
