Guy - Is this the same charity http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/Showcharity/RegisterOfCharities/CharityFramework.aspx?RegisteredCharityNumber=1136164&SubsidiaryNumber=0
which was set up in 2010?
If so, or if not, is there a website?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thanks Poppy, the link you've given is for a blog, not a website..................

A website isn't the same as a blog. Blog means biography log. An example of a website is the one you're posting on, or look at AgeUK for an example of a charity website..................

Have a look on wikipedia (which is also a website, just like blogspot, twitter, gmail and MSE):poppy100 -
Given the short time frame, is not surprisng this charity is using blogspot.com to host its website - its the fastest was of getting an internet presence, with a unique URL.
The Uk Disaster Relief Charity has been set up by two individuals who are also associated with the Charities Advisory Trust. The Charities Advisory Trust owns the following domain names:
ukdisasterrelief.com
ukdisasterrelief.co.uk
ukdisasterrelief.org
They could, of course, point any or all of these three domain names to ukdisasterrelief.blogspot.com. It would only take a few minutes to do this.0 -
You can also donate to UK Disaster Relief via their Charity Giving page - go to the Charity Giving website and search for UK Disaster Relief. This is another really easy way to give money, and individual fundraisers (running marathons for example) can also set up their fundraising account on here to raise for UKDR.0

Errata...
I think you will find that many charities/companies are often created with no immediate intention of operating.
No doubt, the problems caused by the London riots fell within the scope of their charitable objectives and they decided to commence raising funds to meet those objectives.0
