  • Wow, well done for starting a diary on here, looks like you are sorting things out and doing well. I will keep reading with interest.

  • Called the mortgage company this morning as I'm impatient! The cheque hasn't cleared yet but the lady I spoke to said that my monthly payment should now be £298.88 plus my monthly overpayment of £51.12. This makes the daily interest £9.83 (I think!) so saves me about 34p I think.

My DH lost his grandfather this year which was expected but very sad all the same, and the estate has now been settled. My lovely MIL has said that she will pay for our flights to America next year as a gift from her & her late dad. She also implied that she will be "sorting us out" with some more money soon - I'm the luckiest girl alive to have such an amazing MIL!! :D She's gone on holiday to France to see her friend & I took her to the airport yesterday (not sure why I get to keep waving people off on holiday!!) & she insisted I took £50 for fuel. I filled up £15 worth to get us there & me back and bought us a cheap breakfast and still had £30 left, I tried to give it back but MIL refused so that's £30 in the mortgage pig!

Been quite lonely the last week & a bit as DH has been away so much with work but still we know that the next year or so is going to be tough going with my course & placement & his police training ... will be worth it in the end!

  • Oh dear I am so tempted to put the heating on as it's SOOOO cold!!! Can't believe it's only September! Instead I'm going to bed & as DH is away the pooch is allowed to sleep on the bed (ssshh don't tell DH!) and he has no concept of personal space so he'll keep me warm! :money::money:

(The pooch that is not DH!!:rotfl:)

When are others planning on putting the heating on? Luckily the renters are in a south facing room which is above the boiler & next to the airing cupboard so they shouldn't demand it on too soon - I hope!

  • Hi there
Have followed you here from my diary and have subscribed! You sound so energetic and positive - I wish you well on your journey and will be following with interest.

("Interest" sounds like a bit of a dirty word on the MFW threads!)
    Overpay!
  • Thanks PBR! Two years ago everything was quite bleak but things have worked out OK so far. I really believe everything will work out in the end & I believe in karma - that takes patience though!

Haven't seen DH since 4am Monday but he should be home tonight, I am out though! I worked this morning 06:30 - 10:30 and out again 15:00 - 22:00. My hours this evening are a sit in with a lovely woman who lives independently and has challenging behaviour and love working with her!

Cheque has come out of my account so should get a letter from the mortgage company soon ... looking forward to being under £145k! :D

Sending good vibes to all in MFW Land on this wet & miserable Thursday - it's nearly Friday people! :j:j

  • I am not bright & chirpy this morning I'm afraid! :p DH & I had the evening together last night - first in a week! So we decided to watch some DVDs but we put the last one on too late & so that didn't finish til gone 11pm, then it was too hot to sleep & then the dog decided to whine during the night! (My DH pointed out that it was my fault as I let the dog sleep on the bed for 3 nights!) So at 5:30 when I had to get up I was shattered!! Worked 06:00 til about 09:30 out again at 11:15 til about 18:00 and then out again at 19:00 til 22:15 ish! Just too tired today!

For the next term I'm helping out my friend by looking after her little one for Mondays & Tuesdays so have that tomorrow - so hoping she naps tomorrow afternoon so I can join her! Good news is that I have regular shifts at work on Thursdays and Sundays hopefully averaging 20 hours a week while I'm at Uni & doing the babysitting.

Uni starts this week ... can't believe 4 months have gone already! Still haven't done any work either!:eek: But yesterday I reached my 33rd hour of client work only 77 hours to go!

Might have a little nap before work ...

I am literally exhausted! :( But my friends gorgeous daughter is lying on the sofa watching kipper so at least she is letting me rest! ;)

I have decided that I need to do something about my weight, it has been creeping up for a while & I went a bit crazy with cheap Easter eggs earlier in the year! Surely my friends scales are broken though as they make me 69.6kg :eek::eek: Which makes my BMI 26.5 :eek::eek: And embarrassingly I don't think this is the heaviest I've ever been BUT it's the heaviest I've ever weighed myself at! :o:o:o BUT today things change ... I used a free online weight thingybob and it says I'm allowed 1100 calories a day if I want to lose weight - this is beause I'm quite inactive & if I exercise I can eat more!! I bought a Tracey Anderson DVD ages ago that I've never used so that will be put to use. In not so MSE news I will have to spend more money on fresh fruit & veg BUT less on carp so hopefully that will balance out. And I plan to make stews & casseroles as they tend to be low calorie but filling & warming in the winter & cheap too!

Now all I think about are the kids cheese strings in the fridge ...

  • Thanks PBR, it's going to slow down a lot from now on but I'm pleased we managed to throw that much at it.

Planned to exercise last night but was way too tired, my friend got home late & brought a maccy d's for everyone but I was good & said no & had a stir fry at home! Been for an hour long walk at the seaside with the dog & LO, so now they are both tired. I had to carry LO part of the way too as she was far too "knackered to walk"! So I reckon I must have lost about a stone? :rotfl:
