I'm glad people are putting these phone numbers in these forums because whenever I get asked to ring a number I've not heard of I search Google to see if it comes up - and it will now!

    hmm... intriguing.

16 results straight away all warning this number is a scam. The last two results bring up the thread posted on the warnings board on this site.

    Google this number result

I would never fall for this.... but it's surprising how many people would!
  • I received a card redirected from my old address saying that somebody had tried to deliver a parcel and to call a 0709 xxxxx number, just checked on google and there is no such number and the delivery company name is London City Couriers, going to bin it. Thanks

just be careful, you always get idoits doing it at this time of year, i wish they would just wise up instead of tryin to steal of others.

i had one yesterday telling me my radio was waiting to be delivered but it was a 0704 number
  • Just come to add my 2 pence worth.

I had this at the end november/beginning of december. It was when i picked the phone up, It went straight to the message.

I pressed 3 rang it back and it was another message saying that they were having trouble with their end of the phone and could i wait on the line untill they got an operator. I put the phone down but the recorded message must have gone on for about an 2 minutes. I googled the number and it took me to a list of numbers and saying that it was a scam and not to ring it back.
I never told my dh2b because i thought that the phonebill would be huge.

When the itemised phone bill came the number was on but it had charged us 95p for the phonecall

Now i know its a scam now, but didnt at the time but all this nonsense that it will cost you pounds/hundreds/thousends is in my instance nonsence

I'd say it is very dangerous to think like this - breeds complacency.

One day, there will be a scam which, in a moment of weakness is clever enough to catch you - Never say Never is my moto.

Have you ever watched that 'Real Hustle' programme? I, like you, thought I'd never fall for a scam but having seen that, I now think that no-one is 100% scam proof.
