Help with parking fine, already paid one, from Parking Eye

Options
A relative of mine recently went on holiday in their motorhome and parked up on a motorway services for about 4 hours without realising that they had to pay. They did this on the way there and when they arrived home they had a parking fine of £50 which they paid straight away because they were worried about the threat of the fine increasing and being taken to court.

A few days later they have received another parking fine from the same company for parking at another services on their return home.

From what everyone says about parking eye it looks as though they dont actually need to pay this. But, they are a bit worried as there is a picture of them entering the car park and clearly shows their registration.

Will they be ok if they dont pay it?

Of course they will be OK. It's a pity they they paid that money (which isn't a fine). The picture doesn't actually show "them" entering the service area, all it shows is an image of a vehicle. From now on tell them to ignore Parking Eye, and don't be intimidated into paying any more money.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Which is exactly why they stick a photo on there. What affect does it actually have on the terms of the contract though? None.

Simply ignore them. Personally I'd be putting in a court claim to get the first £50 back, but it sounds like it won't be your relatives' cup of tea: http://www.lep.co.uk/news/trainee_solicitor_wins_parking_ticket_case_for_brother_1_777088

There is plenty of good evidence that if you pay these scam artists they come back for more money claiming the received the payment late, so they may not be out of the woods with the first fake parking ticket incident yet.
The best advice is to ignore, but as they paid the first one I feel you may be wasting your breath and it will take the scam artists to empty the bank account first as it often does.

Yes of course they will be OK, it is a scam just like getting a phishing email, why would anyone pay? They will get some scary 'pay up or Court!' letters though so you need to tell them that the debt collector headed notepaper threatograms are also part of the scam.

Show your relative and family the Watchdog paper aeroplane video linked to our top sticky info thread 'welcome, please read before posting'. And havbe a read of all the other (many many) Parking Eye threads and the top sticky thread 'PPC letters, what to expect':

All of that should be enough to convince them we are right to just tell you/them to ignore the whole scam, and to be ready for the predictable computerised letter-chain. Pleeeease tell your family that only a Council, or TFL or the Police can fine anyone for parking - private bogus PCNs are unenforceable trash.

I am a veteran of these tickets from motorway services. Every week I get something from PakingEye or CP Plus and it all gets filed in the shredder. You'll never get back what you've already paid but from here on, consider it a season ticket to clear your conscience that you may treat service car parks like your own property and park on them as and how you choose.

The landowner can only sue for losses, which I believe is £10 for anything 2-24 hours. Be that as it may, they will never do this because they are too busy trying to extract bigger rewards which are unlawful and this is why they don't go to court.

Debt collectors are scammers themselves who are also private companies operating outside of powers. Without them having taken you to court, there is no debt in the eyes of the law. Had it been proven in court, you'd be dealing with bailiffs, NOT phony "debt collectors".

But just to give you a taster of what to expect from ParkingEye. After ignoring their first invoice, you'll receive a second "Final Warning" claiming to be a third communication, "we see from our records that you ignored the last two". But don't worry, it's routine, and just an automated template. There is no "second" letter, and why would there be when even the third is sent to you within the initial 28 days?

The halfhead to sign the document calls himself John Mitchell, purporting to be from the "legal department". Have no fears, this too is a front. You are home and dry.

Now thats not sport when the parrot faced goon with his 4 inch square hardboard clipboard refuses to write me any more.
