I went to the eBay "enclosure" recently. I'd be surprised if they weren't checking them these days, as they have several staff on benches with various products in different states. I can only assume someone put the wrong one in for the final sale product.
No, they even state on their website that the have no repair facility. So the warranty is either replace or refund.
They told me that the machines are sent to them sealed(with plastic wrapping) and they just sell them on. Were they lying? I have the email here.0 -

Laptops are, I think. I did see several pallets of them. But smaller stuff is taken from many places, tested and put on the site.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

that is absolutely appalling - I'd heard good things about the ebay outlet side of pcw, may have to reconsider. My refurb was spotless when I got it direct from pcw 3 years ago, and still is. Sounds like these days it's pure luck of the draw, then...... I'd expect a full refund inc postage if one turned up in the state you describe

That goes without saying. But when you book the pickup, they confirm that it is booked and then no one turns up, what then?
They told me that it was out of their control that the job was not booked!?!
So they don't accept responsibility to sending out broken and dirty cr*p and it's not their fault that the pickup wasn't booked, even though they sent me email confirmation that it was booked the day before??
There is a big crack in the base of the machine and the ports are full of dust and dirt. Unacceptable.
Then they add insult to injury to suggest that I can go to the Post office and send it to them vis Second Class Post Recorded Delivery. Anything more expensive and they wouldn't pay for it.
All this just to get a refund for the piece of cr*p that they sent to me. Otherwise I just had to book another day off to wait for the courier.

It was laptop that I ordered. I have two emails from their outlet telling me that they are not checked. That they arrived sealed and they just sell them.
So are they misrepresenting themselves?0 -

No idea. It was nearly lunchtime when I went to that bit
It's a pretty busy warehouse - the eBay bit is right in the middle, with pallets full of laptops around it. Although given that the laptop repair centre is just upstairs from it, I doubt they do check them, since not that much can break being transported downstairs, surely?

Whatever the logistics, it's a p*ss poor act, to send out such a machine and then to be unable to collect it.
Good customer service would ahve gone a long way to solving the problem.... but it has been really poor. Perfectly matches the quality of the product.0
