:TJust got back from the Grand pasa in marmaris and loved it,the only thing is i wish turkish hotels would cater for the english to with egg bacon and sausage. But then again it is so cheep over there.

The problem this year was the vast amount of ignorant, drunk Russians sitting by the pool day and night with bottles of jack daniels and vodka.

This said i will be returning to turkey next year either marmaris or icemar

We usually go to Hisaronou, about five miles from Olu Deniz. Go bed and breakfast only. Cannot complain about the food in the village, every cuisine you could want. When in Rome do as the Romans do, try Turkish food, wonderfull experience, barbacue at the hotel where we stay, caters for the english style barbecue. Asked if they could get me something more Turkish, ended up with some sweetbreads, barbecued sheeps b*ll*cs, Wonderfull
Go out with the waiters from the hotel when they finish, local restauraunts, brain or tripe soup
    Try
Kokoreç: One of the favorite Turkish fast food made from sheep intestine. They put the meat with tomato, onion, and parsley into quarter or half bread. It is delicious! You can eat the best kokoreç in Kadıköy, Ortaköy and Balık Pazarı.
English breakfast, get one everywhere good, bad and indifferent. Yes it's a Muslim country, so what, plenty of places selling pork products

    Go and enjoy

    Enjoy

Turgutreis on the Bodrum Peninsular is very nice.

There are 3 AI hotels within walking distance of the centre: Aegean Dream, La Blanche and Mandalinci.

No idea how good they are or if they are anywhere near your budget as I would never do AI.

I saw a review of this hotel:

which is not slated on TA but again, no idea of the price.
  • Belek is the place to go for all inclusive, £900 will not get you a hotel there though lol, all 5 star luxury hotels 24/7 all inc. Fantastic.

I know Olu Deniz well and wouldn't go anywhere else in Turkey. The Flamingo Hotel is beautiful (well-planted with fruit and olive trees) if you don't mind a 15 minute walk to the beach. If you prefer to stay nearer the beach (which would be much noisier in the evenings but more convenient, depends what floats your boat!) the Karbel is well situated.

Some years ago went to Dalyan. trad Turkish village with river running through- got a boat down thro the reed beds to the beach (turtles lay their eggs there) boat up stream to mud pools and sulphur baths. It was a really lovely holiday, so much so that went the next year too! Flights into Dalaman. There weren't many large hotels then but of course things may have changed.

Finally booked it. Off to Hotel Mavi Holiday Village in Gulluk, Bodrum. Paid £1180 for two weeks all inclusive. Started at £800 but by the time we'd added luggage, transfer and upgraded the room the price had jumped a fair bit, but at least spending will be kept to a minimum when we get there. Like most hotels we looked at this had a mixed bag of ratings on holiday advisor so we are taking it with a pinch of salt and aim to make it a brilliant holiday. All I need to do now is sort out some holiday reading. Thanks for everyone's advice and tips.

I went to turkey last year and hated it, believe me im a seasoned traveller but had not been before (and will never go back .) I think it was allanya we went too but everyone on our bus home staying at diff resorts, and diff hotels did not like it. Food was cold, people rude, and very expensive cheeper in spain trust me but that is my opion and i do realise everyone is diff and should make there own mind up.

16,000,000 people visit Turkey every year, which says something.
Seasoned travellers should really do their homework properly.
Those that do won't be disappointed.
