What have you given up as a DFW?

I was wondering what people have given up in order to maximize debt repayments.

For me it's haircuts, meals out, then for this month and maybe next booze, also I need new specs and should go to the dentist but I'm putting it off for a few months.

Have v expensive to run 17 year old and am trying to prioritize her!

Don't put off going to the dentist - if there's anything wrong it'll cost you far more in the long run. Your eyesight is precious too - don't risk damaging it for the sake of a few quid test. They don't just test your vision, they look at the health of your eyes too.

I gave up haircuts and dyed my own for a while, but it damaged it eventually, so I'm back at the ahirdresser's now. Also gave up my acrylic nails for 2 and a half years, but back hooked on them now!

nights out to pub and club (not my thing anyway so why waste my money), gave up my expensive skincare regime and have found same products under different labels costing less than 10% of what I used to pay!

fags and starbucks are the hardest things I've given up, but also nights out drinking and spending a fortune in tesco on food I end up just throwing away. Got much better at meal planning now, just need to learn how to cook to like the OS way.

My one luxury is my 10.99 cineworld unlimited pass, but I go to the cinema 5-10 times a month so it pays for it self 10 times over.

I've given up going out clubbing and to gigs as much (still do it sometimes - got to live!) and also having lunches at work - pack-ups all the way.

I've also given up some of the more expensive skincare products, which I dont miss at all.

And finally, I've given up on the saturday shopping sprees!

Going out to the pub. Went about 6 times last year. I also drink very little in the house now, maybe a bottle of wine a month, maximum.

    I've given up the following:

    - Going out to the pub, never really enjoyed it as always came back smelling of smoke.
    - My Sunday shopping sprees.
    - I've reduced the number of takeaways I have, plus I feel soo much healthier.
    - Girlie nights out, have now been replaced by girlie nights in with a couple of bottles of wine, crisps, dips etc. The amount of money we've saved since doing this is unbelievable.:j
