Invisible activity on my mobile.
My mobile phone interferes with my computer speakers. Shortly before I get a text message there's a crackling sound. From what I've been able to find out online, there's not much I can do about this apart from not leaving my mobile near my speakers.
Anyway, sometimes the crackling happens without me being sent any text message or being called. I'm curious about what the cause of this is. Is my mobile provider doing this to stay in touch somehow? It would be nice to know.

Yes, if the phone remains connected to the network it periodically exchanges some information with it.0

Yep, just a pulse from the network every so often. If you leave the phone near a radio it'll interfere with the radio signal in the same way, a bit of buzzing for a few seconds every couple of hours.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0
