The conversion in the bill is metric, approx 11kWh per meter unit as opposed to 32 for imperial, so you have only been paying for 1/3rd of your use. You now need to find all your old bills, if you do not have them ask your supplier for them, get readings for the past year and calculate the correct useage. You then need to insist that the one year back billing rules apply due to their error. If they do not agree you need to make a formal complaint in writing and if that fails you can take it to the ombudsman. Once they get the message that you are serious they will see it your way because they do not like going to the ombudsman and showing their incompetence.
  • thankyou all for a better understanding of my problem, than can ever be explained to me by eon. why couldnt eon have explained the problem when phoning in the first instance, then i could have understood from the start! i will stand firm all the way through, but i must say this is such incompetance on a grand scale!!

i will look forward to my bill!?, and will keep everyone informed of the outcome.

    thanks again

Read up about the "Billing Code" here...

If you think it is applicable in your circumstances ask for it to be applied via the E.on complaints procedure.
