Couple of interesting factoids.Remortgaging accounted for 65% of the overall increase in buy-to-let lending in the quarter.Although this quarter's increase is significant, the market is currently running at around one third of the levels seen at the peak of lending in 2007.0 -
The shift towards concentration of property ownership towards investors continues.
ermMortgage market sees highest number of first-time buyers since August 20100 -
Mortgage repayment problems have stabilised against a current backdrop of stable employment and low interest rates," said CML director general Paul Smee.
Reminds me of a true storyA Cork, Ireland radio station was holding an on-air contest to see who could come up with the best word not in a dictionary that would still make sense in a sentence. One of the first callers used the word G-O-A-N, pronounced "go-an."
"Okay, caller. How would you use this in a sentence?"
"Go-an. Goan Fuc k yerself!" Concerned about it being a family show, the DJ quickly hung up on the man. After fielding a bunch more unsuccessful calls, another caller calls up with the word S-M-E-E, pronounced "smee."
"Okay, caller. How would you use this in a sentence?"
"Smee again. Goan Fuc k yerself!"

What was it you said??
Oh yeah..."proportion".
Its an interesting word isn't it.
Lets see if it takes you long to understand how the number of FTB in one month can be at a high since August 2010 yet the number of BTL mortgages in total can also be at their highest proportion since the 1990's
You've made a bit of meal over the understanding of numbers, proportions, mortgages for one month, mortgages in existence etc.
I understand it's hard for you to admit any of the BTL aspect can be true, just as it's hard for the other side to talk about the BTL, but it's a world of grey not black and white.Apologies. It I appears as of I did not pick up on that particular aspect. Perhaps because BTL as a % of "All mortgages" is a measure so pointless that it is difficult to conceive of its existence.
So it's not a similar stat to the one month/quarterly/yearly stats you're using but with a different time variance?0 -

You appear to be an expert Johnny. Why don't you enlighten us.JonnyBravo wrote: »

In a word, no.
But then again, maybe you can offer up an argument as to the relevance.
Can you?0
