Phone Insurance problem
Hey,
I wonder if anyone can help. I took out a phone with phones4u last year but it was stolen in october time on a night out. So I blocked it etc and then went to phones4u the next day and they told me to ring the police for the insurance etc and went to get the details for it and said they couldn't find any insurance on the system and Ive always thought the insurance was abit of a rip off so just thought I mustn't have taken it out after all and so didnt question it ( yes I know its kind of my own fault)...
Anyway I bought a cheap £40 phone and have been using that ever since. But on the phone to the bank today they offered me cheaper insurance for my HTC and I said I hadnt had it for over 8 months and they told me I was still paying for the insurance!!!
I rang the company that it was with straight away and they said basically I shouldnt have taken phone4us word and should have rang them myself so theres nothing I can do. They then offered me 6 months free insurance for the inconvience which I rejected because the phone I have as a replacement is so rubbish anyway and to be honest I just wanted to cancel the thing before they got another penny from me. I know I should have rang them myself but phones4u told me I had no insurance and I didnt think Id have probably taken insurance out anyways so I didnt even think to question it! So I'm basically now 80/90 quid out of pocket and have been paying for a service that Ive not recieved. Is there anything I can do?
