Advice on Airline Changing Flight Time

Hi all, I am due to fly to Malaysia for a few weeks in September. Today I recieved an email telling me that my return flight will be arriving at 1645 instead of 1615. I had already booked a train ticket which anticipated my arrival at the earlier time. I now doubt that I will have enough time to make the train. Can anyone tell me what rights I have as its Malaysian Airlines who have changed the terms of our arrangement not me. Thanks for any advice or information.

To be fair it sounds simply as if you haven't allowed enough time to meet your rail connection; a delay of half an hour on a flight half way around the world would hardly be unusual or unexpected!0

It might not be but it still changes the conditions under which I booked the tickets. Oh and its not a delay its a "change of flight time" which is a totally different situation. I'd allowed two hours to make my connection from Heathrow to Kings Cross via Heathrow Express which didn't seem unreasonable.0

30 minutes later and you cant make your train - this sounds to me like you expect the whole return journey to run like clockwork. You would only need HMRC to stop and search your bags at the airport or for there to be long queues at passport control to add that amount of time.

How are you getting from Paddington to King's Cross?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Malaysian are contracted to get you from A to B. I doubt they will you any compensation for getting you to B 30 mins later and any onward connections you have booked independantly are of no concern to them. You could look at your travel insurance however I suspect they will also suggest that you have not allowed enough time0

Further advice on this thread suggests that you should have bought flexible train tickets:

As per the above posters you have no rights given the small (but inconvenient to you) change in time.
To be fair 2 hours is cutting it very fine anyway to get from LHR T4 to KX during afternoon rush hour (assuming it's a weekday).
As an aside todays flight is showing as arriving 34mins early

lol fingers crossed its 34mins on the day as well! I knew I was cutting it fine but have a friends party that night that I wanted to go to so thought it was worth the chance. I'll see if I can organise something else0
