Cisco VPN client - connects at work, but not at home

    Check in the Cisco profile to see if the address mentioned is an ip address or a name. If it is a name, it may be a dns issue, if it is, try cloning the cisco vpn profile and changing it to an ip address instead. You can either find out the ip address by doing start, run, cmd ping whateverthenameis.com or asking your IT department.

    Also try ipconfig /release, and ipconfig /renew before you attempt a connection.

    Reducing the mtu on the router to 1400 may help.

    You need to get to a stage where you can ping the address of your companies vpn address, if you are able to ping it, and still can't connect, then that points towards a protocol problem or blocking by the isp/router.
