i dont know if anyone else has been affected but i felt it important to post this

i recently entered the vimto competition and signed up for their newsletter - in the hope of getting more comp info - recieved an email of them the other day complete with everybody elses emails that were recieving it, and i am now getting emails of others on the mailing list.

i think that this is totally wrong and have emailed vimto to inform them and would advise others that have been affected to do so too as your email address could be passed anywhere.


appologies if this is in the wrong place but just felt people shoud know

I got this email as well, i couldn't believe it, i thorght it was very strange, there were LOADS of email addresses ! will email them also.

i had that email as well wasnt very impressed at all. just gald its my comping only email.

I had that e-mail too and did the same. It appeared as if someone had been sent an email containing all of our emails telling them to enter the competition

yes i got it, blimmen cheek and now i am getting lots of spam all of a sudden. It is my comping email, but i never got guffy spam in it before

not happy about this, thanks for highlighting the issue

I haven't got it yet, was it an email comp or a web form?

It was a web form and you could opt in for mailing list. Vimto then sent an email to the list, and instead of being undisclosed recipients, everyone's email address on their mailing list was visible.

now it seems that some have taken advantage of this and spamming us,

i complained to [EMAIL="info@vimto.com"]info@vimto.com[/EMAIL], I wasn't filling in anymore online web forms!

edit...incidently i have been on their mailing list for a few months, and this has never happened before

Had to change settings on my user cp which had been fiddled with during a glitch. all working now
