Cheap broadband deals - should i trust them?

I'm wondering if it's worth going for these cheap deals you see online..
My story:
Two weeks ago i went for Talk Talk Broadband because they were my cheapest option. But to my despair... my order fell through 3+ times
First time it was my fault - i failed a credit check because i forgot to register my address with the electoral poll (just moved).
Then i thought it would be fine until they told me that they had no equipment to come out and install my new line + broadband so they had to borrow off BT phift! I'm cool with that as long they tell me before hand but no - BT wouldn't come out because some stupid reason and yet they didn't notify me (didn't ring me up or send me letters). I only found out when i chased them up..
Even so..they kept on putting me on hold and redirecting me to different deparments on the call (not impressed at all)..
SO.
I thinking if i had willing to accept a more expensive deal( with BT for instance) then i wouldn't need to go through this hassle. This has cost me a month of time  BT is a massive organisation which i am sure it would only take them to get me up and running with few weeks the most?

You don't quite understand the install procedure. TT do not install or maintain local lines (nor do any other retail telecoms), only BT Openreach does that. It's up to TT to arrange it with them, unfortunately OR is not responsible to the public, so their communication skills can be lacking, to say the least...combine that with TT and you're certain to get problems.
If you had taken your service via BT Retail, you'd have had exactly the same issue, as they are entirely separate from OR and don't get any kind of priority service.
3-4 weeks is a fairly typical lead time for a new llne provision.
You need to complain through TT, not BT-you cannot contact OR direct. No free lunch, and no free laptop
