RiPWiRE anyone?

Does anyone have ripwire as their isp?
I have a relative who has recently transferred to this new company for fibre optic broadband and so far despite spending five hours on the phone yesterday and a further couple of hours today they are still having problems.
They are quite a way from myself in another city but i`m planning to travel up there on my day off next week and if anyone can offer any advice i would be grateful.
The company can see that they are connected to the internet but the speed is so slow that the connection times out and a web page will not load at all. It does seem that the support helpline people have exhausted their knowledge and despite promising to ring further today they have not kept their promise.
I have no idea what i`m looking for so i suppose what i`m really asking is has anyone else moved over to this provider and have there been any similar problems.
Thanks.
SD

Lol @ no replies, its a new company so i shouldn`t really be surprised

Just an update really in case it helps anyone else, my relatives were told to download some remote software to help the company identify the problem which they couldn`t do due to the connection not working so they were really stuck - result - the company sent two people out to see them at home and they checked absolutely everything, they were able to identify that there was nothing wrong at the users end and went away to search for a solution.
It seems that it is some other equipment in an exchange somewhere and the issue is still not fully resolved but is currently being worked on. My relatives now have an 8 meg broadband speed which will improve further as the work progresses and all the equipment is tweaked.
I`m really impressed with the level of service that they have received today, especially the home visit! I thought that it would be an uphill battle and take an age to sort out but i think that all of us have had a pleasant surprise.
Well done RiPWiRE!

hi, i'm a newbie so just seen this, i use ripwire after moving from bt where we had 1mb dlspeed at best. best move i ever made the told us due to distance from exchange we could get 10mb speed with them at best but poss 5mb at worst and gave us option to cancel contract. we didnt due to many problems with bt so pleased we didnt 2 weeks in we get an average of 35mb speed with 30mb being the worst no loss in connection only down fall is needing an extra router if wanting wireless. cannot fault them at all.0

That sounds great, my rellies now have an average 39 meg speed and are really happy with it.
When my contract is up with O2 i shall be investigating it myself
